twice from a set of robbery gangs who parades the
area in danfo buses. Her car was at the mechanics
for few days, so she had to get to work through
public transport buses and that was how she met her ordeal. Luckily for her, she made it alive, and even
though she lost personal belongings, it wasn't too
severe. She wants other readers to learn from her
story and be more careful. And then she has a
question for the government.
Tuesday, December 16 2014, is not one day I will
never forget in a hurry because that was the day I
had my first and last "ONE CHANCE" experience. One-
chance, for those who do not know, commonly
refers to robbery attacks carried out on unsuspecting
bus passengers. Continue below. I woke up that early morning without an inkling of
what lay ahead, I believed that as my car was at the
mechanic place for repairs, I had have to move out
early and be at work before 7 am. As I was waiting
patiently at the Daily times bus stop Agidingbi, Ikeja
to board a bus, a yellow painted- commercial bus stopped beside me and the conductor shouted under
bridge Ikeja, I didn't even think twice, I jumped
aboard. Usually I am a patient person, but consider
my joy immediately I saw the bus stopped few
minutes after I got to the bus stop when on the
previous day, I had waited for more than 30 minutes at the same bus stop I eventually trekked a long
distance to get a vehicle. That happened to be my
undoing. I boarded the bus without my usual perusal
of the bus occupants.
Anyway, to cut the long story short, I entered the ill-
fated bus, immediately I entered I looked around
back, and to my discomfort noticed all the occupants
were men, eight of them men including the driver,
which I didn't notice previously as some had their
faces covered with caps and others dressed like women . It finally dawned on me, that these were no
ordinary passengers, that's when I said to myself
'I don enter this one". At first, I couldn't utter a word; I just tensed up, but
later relaxed. Once they noticed I was on to their
game, one of them crossed to sit beside me and
enclosed me in, saying he wants to get down at Coca
-cola ,he later tapped me, and said in a calm voice "
Madam, do not panic or shout so you won't be hurt'. Many thoughts flew through my mind, praying that
they should just be mere thieves and not kidnappers
or ritualists. I repeatedly chanted " Blood of Jesus"
even when one of them hit me and asked me to stop
saying it, But I just couldn't stop. It was my saving
grace. During the 10 minutes ordeal, I ended up losing my
laptop, Smartphone, jewellery, Atm card and money
to the kill-joys. Though I took down the plate number
and reported to the police, who by the way asked
me to trace the owner through the local government
where the vehicle was registered, as if I am a private investigator. Unfortunately, I entered the same vehicle a week
after, this time to Yaba, immediately I noticed they
are the same people, I alighted but I have decided to
let everything be but here are few lessons I will like
to share with everyone so as not to fall victim of
such unpleasant experiences.
1. Be safety conscious, being and remaining safe is a
collective effort and its starts with the individual.
2. If your area is poorly lit, always in darkness or
usually lonely, its better you move in twos, ask a
neighbor or vigilante to walk you, get a particular
keke napep/okada or cab to pick you to the nearest
bus stop or if you are not too late, wait till day breaks
so you can recognize faces or take in more details.
3. Before you board a vehicle, try as much to notice
the occupants of the vehicle: are they are all male
(sometimes they engage females in their evil acts)?
Is the conductor holding money(It's a sign they are
legitimate and the bus has been engaging in business
since morning )? Are the occupants scattered in the bus? Is the
conductor insisting on where you must sit? Are you
alone at the bus stop? Watchfulness is key.
4. Carry as little valuables as you can, a day after
the robbery incident, a friend of mine lost 2 laptops,
cash and phones to hoodlums around the same axis.
5. In all , don't panic, remain calm, take in as much
details as you can, faces, plate number, make and
model of vehicle to help you give a comprehensive
description to the appropriate authorities later. And the question I will like those in authority is why
are there no working streetlights in Ikeja,
considering its Lagos's capital and centre of
commercial activities?

Baby Falls Off Mother's Back Got Crushed By A Trailer

not my style, hahaha, just as I know that it will be
difficult to find a single Nigerian who hasn't pointed
fingers at President Goodluck Jonathan since he
became President. But really, can so many fingers be
pointed at a single individual all at the same time? Some people have gone to the extent of saying that
since Jonathan took office, everything has gone to
hell in a handbasket. Others have held him
responsible for everything that has gone wrong in
the country, from the tear in their pants to the
economy. Trust me: Nigerians are beginning to agree that when it comes to assigning blame, look to
Jonathan first. There are some hardliners who
don't care if Jonathan wasn't President during the
civil war. He must have been thinking about it, and
that's good enough reason for them. They even say
that if he hadn't been sticking his nose into government, the civil war wouldn't have
happened. Funny, Nigerians have found the perfect
target for dealing with their bad days. Late to work?
Blame Jonathan! Did the soup in the fridge melt when
you weren't looking? It's Goodluck Jonathan.
Can't find your smelling socks? Jonathan! Your baby pees on the chair, again? Jonathan. The possibilities
are endless! Hey, are we not just being unfair to
Goodluck Jonathan? We blame him for all and
everything. Even for things that are not his fault. Let
me ask you something sir or madam, if Jonathan is to
blame for everything wrong in Nigeria today, what becomes of the previous presidents under whose
regimes most of these problems started? On Tuesday evening on my way back from NTA, I
stopped at the Bar Beach to buy suya. I was a little bit

As I waited, I saw two weird looking rastas looking

whether we are equally guilty of the things we are
blaming on others. In truth, Goodluck Jonathan should
roll up his sleeves, spit on his palms and get to work on a lot of things. We keep saying that corruption
escalated under his regime but why do we keep
failing to associate it with the fact that these corrupt
individuals are Nigerians? I listened to some custom
officers saying that If it wasn't for Goodluck
Jonathan's backward policies, everything at the Nigerian borders would be perfect. Yes, let us keep dumping everything on Goodluck
Jonathan. Even our own responsibilities as citizens.
He's the reason our custom and police officers are
more interested in collecting bribes than fighting
crime and checking for contraband goods coming
into the country. It is also Jonathan's fault that the security operatives at the Lagos airport have all
turned beggars. Should the president also take the
rap for the Director-General of the Standards
Organisation of Nigeria not being able to see that the
nation is littered with fake products? Maybe Goodluck Jonathan should be with him daily
and point him towards fake products and
manufacturers. The fight to save this country does
not begin or stop at Janathan's table. It must be an
all Nigerian battle. Let the pastors stop praying for
corrupt politicians and tell them to their faces to stop stealing public funds. If all drivers have their
complete vehicle papers and obey traffic laws, there
will be no need to give out money to the police and
we will be on our way to a better society.
Ask yourself where your governor got the billions he
spends on frivolities? People in the rural areas of Akwa Ibom state are living in thatched houses and
we are building another stadium? Have you tried
asking what the Abia State Government did with the
state's allocation for eight years? Do you think
President Jonathan will be allowed a minute of sleep
if he failed to remit monies due to the states? So why then do we pour all the blames on him? Your governor owns empty estates in Dubai and
factories in South Africa when people of their states
are homeless and jobless, is that Jonathan's fault
too? Where did we get the preposterous notion that
President Jonathan took office and people started
having trouble finding jobs? Did we have a zero unemployment rate in the country before President
Jonathan? Millions of Nigerians are working their
asses out and dying as contract staffs and casual
workers, where is the NLC? Is it not aware of the appalling working conditions
Nigerian workers are subjected to by multinationals?
Of course, it is all Jonathan's fault. Last time I
checked, Jonathan was a president or a magician.
Should he be doing the job of the NLC too, supervising
every sector of the country at the same time? Let us be truthful to ourselves, since when have we had
good roads in this country? Were there roads in the
country that Jonathan destroyed? Have we had
electricity in the country before President Jonathan?
We say Boko Haram started as a result of poverty
and lack of education in the North, were there schools in the North that Jonathan destroyed? Trust
me, the architects of Boko Haram know what
they're talking about when they say it is all
Jonathan's fault. For everyone out there, below are a list of things
Goodluck Jonathan is yet to be blamed for, so go
ahead and make your pick and let the blame game
continue: Cancer, AIDS, racism, air pollution, sin, child
porn, human meat at Jankara market, home video,
obesity, Drake sleeping with everyone's chic, Kim Kardashian's nude picture, tribalism and every
other kind of ism, Arsenal's trophyless seasons,
Facebook, Twitter and Wizkid's last album.

weeks of working with him, he asked me to stop

Prophetess Calls For Postponement Upon 2015 Election To Avoid Bloodshed
Nonnie Roberson has called for the cancellation of the
2015 elections, a call she said was in the best interest
of the country. She however said if the elections
eventually hold, President Goodluck Jonathan will win,
but many lives will be lost.
"I know the president is going to win the presidential
election because I prayed and a lot others have
prayed too. The sceptre has not been taken away
from him, but it is going to be very close and
intense," the prophetess told Vanguard in an
interview.
"My fear is that there will be a lot of bloodshed,"
she said.
Prophetess Nonnie said she wished the government
would yield to calls in favour of the cancellation of the
2015 elections, coming from some quarters, as going
ahead with the election may be disastrous.
"I wish they can heed that call and cancel the
elections because more people will die if we go ahead
to conduct the election as scheduled. Even in the
course of the electioneering campaigns, people will
die," she predicted.
She however said her group, Women in Clergy, has
been praying and fasting, but noted that faith without
work is dead. So, "we are getting involved. We are
working with a lot of female aspirants, trying to
encourage and push them. The next thing is to embark
on a mass sensitisation project to tell Nigerians what is expected of them. Votes will count this time around;
so we will encourage people to vote based on their
individual conviction. We will tell them to collect their
money and rice if they bring them, but vote your
conscience.
"We have also been able to set up our zonal bodies
with strong women of God taking charge of the zones.
They are organising and talking and very soon, the
state and local government chapters will be up and
running. We will not fold our arms and watch things
go the same way it has always gone. It is no longer business as usual," Roberson said.
