APC Repeats Allegations of poll postponement
between the country's two main political
parties has taken a new twist with the
All Progressives Congress alleging plots
by the federal government to postpone
elections and form an interim government. National Publicity Secretary of the
opposition party, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, made the accusation on
Tuesday during a press conference. "During my last press conference on
January 29th, I alerted the nation to the
fact hat the advocates of the
postponement of this month's
general elections have resorted to using
the courts to disqualify our presidential candidate, General
Muhammadu Buhari, and scuttle the
polls," he said. "This followed the obvious failure of their
clandestine campaign to have the
elections postponed ostensibly because of
the poor distribution of Permanent Voter
Cards (PVCs) by the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC)," Mohammed said. Also read: APC queries INEC warning on election campaigns He said the so-called advocates of election
shift may have retreated, but they have
not given up their push to scuttle the
elections. "In fact, a conference organized on
Monday to consider the effects of
the National Conference on the 2015
, elections was turned into a campaign
for election postponement by the usual
culprits. "The election-postponement campaigners
have now returned to the drawing board
to plot another move to make sure the
elections do not hold, and that precisely is
why we have called this press
conference." APC called on Nigerian to remain vigilant,
especially in the days ahead, and to
continue to reject all attempts by "anti-
democratic forces" to "cling to or get
power through means that are not
democratic." "We urge our members and supporters in
particular to eschew violence under any
guise, even in the face of the most
egregious provocations, so as not to play
into the hands of those working to scuttle
the elections," read the statement. Comment could not be obtained from the
ruling People's Democratic Party, which
has recently said it was ready for the
elections.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Singapore advise Nigerian women on indecent dressing
Ambassador to Singapore has advised
Nigerian women to dress decently so that
they can be addressed properly. Okpara,
who gave the advice on Tuesday in Abuja in
an interview with newsmen stressed the need for women to dress decently. She said that the adage `the way you dress
will determine the way you are address`
was still relevant in the country and across
the world. She said: "I think it is important
for women to dress well, keep fit and take
good care of themselves. "You can dignify yourself as a lady by the
way you dress; you don't have to expose
your body indecently. "If you do that you
are indirectly telling people that you are
available for use. "In as much as we are all
craving to look good, I am also of the opinion that we must dress decently." Okpara appealed to stakeholders in
Nigeria's fashion industry to discourage
female artistes from dressing indecently.
"They should ensure that our culture and
traditions are obeyed and not thrown away.
"Lately you see Nigerian women across the world exposing their body and ignorantly
calling it fashion. "My advice to the fashion world or people
going into fashion is to maintain our culture
and to also respect the dignity of
womanhood,'' she added. The
ambassador advised Nigerian women to
ensure that their voice are heard in the society by voting in the February general
elections.
Nigeria elections: Blast hits presidential rally in Gombe
herself in northern Nigeria's Gombe city,
minutes after President Goodluck
Jonathan left a campaign rally there. At least one person was killed and 18 others
were wounded in the blast, police and
hospital sources said. Mr Jonathan is standing for re-election on 14
February against former military ruler
Muhammadu Buhari. Militant Islamist group Boko Haram has
stepped up its attacks in the run-up to the
contest. It has not commented on the blast. Explosions have also ripped through court
buildings in three towns in oil-rich southern
Nigeria in what police described as co-
ordinated attacks. Dynamite was suspected to have been used
in the attacks in Port Harcourt city and the
towns of Isiokpo and Degema in oil-rich
Rivers State, regional police spokesman
Ahmad Muhammed said. There were no casualties, but the court
building in Degema was "razed down and
documents burnt", he is quoted by Nigeria's privately owned Daily Trust newspaper as saying. Boko Haram is not known to be active in the
oil-producing region, where militants
demanding a greater share of Nigeria's oil
wealth have carried out attacks in the past. 'Angry youth' In the blast in Gombe, the bomber blew
herself up near a car, Gombe state police
spokesman Fwaje Atajiri told the BBC. He said a female passerby had been killed,
contradicting earlier reports that three
people had been killed in the blast.
PDP warns Clark, Tompolo and Dokubo over war threat
Party, PDP, yesterday asked the former federal
Commissioner for Information and Ijaw leader, Chief
Edwin Clark, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples
Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Mujahid Asari- Dokubo,
High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo and other Niger Delta militants to be mindful of what they
say at this period of the nation's political history. The PDP also warned other support groups,
organisations, professional bodies and associations
rooting for President Goodluck Jonathan to be careful
with their utterances to ensure decency in the polity. This was even as ex- MEND Commanders in the Niger
Delta, gave General Theophilus Danjuma seven days
ultimatum to apologize over his call for the arrest of
Asari Dokubo,Tompolo for threatening that Nigeria
would break up if President Jonathan lost the
February Presidential election. The ex-militants said that war would follow in Nigeria if Jonathan lost the
election. Chief Clark and the ex-militants blasted
General Danjuma in their reaction, saying that his
remarks were disappo-inting. At a meeting in Port
Harcourt, the Rivers State capital yesterday, the
former militant commanders in the region condemned the call for the arrest of front line freedom fighters in
the region, Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo and
Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo, saying that
the call amounted to a declaration of war against the
Niger Delta region. Former MEND Commander, Victor Ebikabowei Ben,
alias General Boyloaf, also asked General Danjuma to
apologise and hide his head in shame or face
humiliation. However, speaking with newsmen in Abuja, PDP
National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh noted
that although the party appreciated the support of all
Nigerians, it was disturbed over the provocative
statements of some people which could provoke
other parts of the country, warning that Jonathan was not an Ijaw President or that of the South South geo-
political zone of the country alone but the president of
all Nigerians. Metuh said, "we want to stress and state publicly,
that whilst we have noted the interest, zeal and
enthusiasms of individuals, various groups, support
groups and organisations, that are supporting the
president with statements, adverts, documentaries
and TV programmes; we appeal to them to be guided by the noble ideals and the visions of the founding
fathers of our party. "We are not in agreement with their statements and
we are cautioning them to mind what they say. No
individuals own the party. The President could be
more loved in Anambra than Ijaw area. He has
support in Adamawa than in Bayelsa States… "Well, we have noted that whilst we are not
responsible for the utterances, statements of some of
our support individuals, groups and organizations; we
are cautioning them to be mindful of what they say. "Ours is a national party. We cover all zones, all local
governments. No individual owns our party, no group,
no people, no zone owns our party. And being a
national party, we caution some of our people, some
of our supporters to be mindful of the zeal that they
exhibit. Let the wrong impression not be given. "President Jonathan could even be more loved in
Anambra than in the Ijaw area. He could even be
more loved in Zamfara than in the Ijaw area. He could
even have more support and more votes from
Adamawa than in Ijaw. And to buttress this,
yesterday in the campaign, Mr President informed all that the Adamawa people gave him twice the number
of votes that he got from Bayelsa. So the president is
not the president of Ijaw, he is not president of
Bayelsa; he is not president of South South, he is the
president of the entire Nigeria and he has the support
of the entire country." On PDP's anticipated victory, Metuh said, "We are rounding up next week. So we
have done over 70 percent of our campaign. Alhaji Asari- Dokubo had threatened that " ex-
militants would return to their old ways should
President Jonathan lose the election," at a meeting
last week in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Reacting to the issue, the former Minister of Defence,
General Theophilous Danjuma called for the arrest of
Dokubo and other former Niger Delta Militants for
threatening to rock the boat should President
Jonathan lose the February 14 election. Danjuma who described the statements as reckless,
had said, "those are very reckless statements made
by irresponsible individuals and they should be
condemned. In fact, they should be arrested.'' But responding to Danjuma, Chief Edwin Clark,
Tompolo, Dokubo, others tongue lashed the former
Minister, accusing him of sponsoring attacks on
Jonathan and that the government should arrest him
rather than the ex- militants. Clark who said he was
disappointed at the call by Danjuma for the arrest of the Ex- Militants, stressed that he (Danjuma) ought to
have condemned the attacks on Jonathan in several
states in the North. Meanwhile, ex militant Commanders in the Niger Delta
region have asked General Danjuma to apologise over
his call for the arrest of front line freedom fighters in
the region or face problems. 'General' Reuben Wilson aka Pastor who handed
the ultimatum on behalf of other commanders of
Defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta,
MEND in Port Harcourt said Danjuma had by his call for
arrest of Niger delta crusaders called for war against
the region. Wilson who is now president Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative said
Danjuma was among northern leaders that had richly
benefited from the oil resource in the region. "Our attention has been drawn to publications
credited to T.Y.Danjuma, a former defence minister,
calling for the arrest of former Niger Delta freedom
fighters, including our frontline selfless leader and
hero, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo. "As much as he has the right to free speech,
Danjuma ought to know that the oil money he is
enjoying today, through his ownership of oil blocs,
came from our sacrifices and blood. We staked our life
to fight for the development of our country. We fought
for freedom for our land and it pains us that people like Danjuma who have reaped bountifully from the
Niger Delta, can wake up to insult our sensibilities. "For Danjuma to call for the arrest of Asari Dokubo,
then he has walked on the tail of the serpent. The
much we know is that we the ex militants who
decided to drop our guns to join forces with the
federal government to develop the country, especially
the Niger Delta have never said anything or taken any action that would warrant such explosives from
Danjuma,'' he said and reaffirmed the support of
ex militant commanders for the second term bid of
Jonathan. "All we have said overtime is that our
brother, President Jonathan, is a true son of the Niger
Delta, and deserves to enjoy the two terms in office provided for in the constitution. We stand by this right
and we will do everything legal and legitimate to
make sure that he is not denied that right, not by a
thousand Danjumas.

Graphic Pics: Executed ISIS fighters lined up in the ruins of border town of Kobane
during continued fighting in the villages around
Kobane which was liberated earlier this week after
months of bitter street fighting. In one village, a Kurd
was today pictured standing over the bodies of
Islamic extremists after they were killed in Halimce, a village east of the town... Kurdish forces recaptured the town on January 26 in
a symbolic blow to the jihadists who have seized
large swathes of territory in their onslaught across
Syria and Iraq. But the town is now characterised by
demolished buildings, with heavily armed fighters
roaming otherwise deserted, rubble-strewn streets. Although their town has been liberated, thousands of
residents are now settling into Turkey's newest
refugee camp for an indefinite stay and have been
warned not to return until the area has been fully
secured.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has revealed new contract talks are planned and says he is a "good fit" for the club.
successor in 2013 led to demonstrations from some Stoke fans. But Hughes guided Stoke to their best Premier League
finish - ninth - in 2013-14 and they currently lie 10th. Hughes said: "The owners intimated they would like to
discuss a new contract. If we can reach an
agreement, I will be more than happy. We are a good
fit." The Welshman was speaking ahead of his side's
encounter with Queens Park Rangers at the Britannia
Stadium on Saturday. QPR sacked Hughes in 2012 as they headed for relegation to the Championship. The Welshman is unsure about speculation he will be
given an additional two years. "The length and terms will be discussed in due course
I would imagine," he said. "But I'm delighted they
want to do it.
Many of the traders in Alaba Market are Armed Robbers (Read)
stores at the Alaba International Market was
recently arrested for robbery. While opening up to the police on his arrest, he said
"I participated in a robbery operation where we
made over one hundred million naira and I got
twenty eight million naira as my share. What kind of
business could I have done to get that kind of
money?" I am a businessman at the Alaba International
Market. I deal in musical instruments. The same thing
is applicable to my members. They have one
business or the other in the market. Some sell
generator parts or sets; others sell one thing or the
other to deceive people that we are into genuine businesses. We robbed a man travelling from
Cotonou." On how they got the information that the man was
holding a huge amount of money, John said that "It was our informant that told us that the man
was coming into the country. It was the most
successful robbery operation that I ever
participated in. Others got N25 to N18 million,
depending on their roles. I am the gang leader. "The second robbery was in Cotonou. We
raided a bank. We got big money also. But I
can't say how much. I know I got N17 million
and my boys got as much as N5 million each." The suspects, while speaking on robberies outside
Nigeria, said "Robberies in Cotonou are easier than what happens in Nigeria. In Cotonou, you don't
even need a gun to operate. But in Nigeria,
especially in Lagos, you need to be very
careful." On why he continued to participate in robberies even
after making enough money, the suspect said that "Well, I built a very magnificent building in my
village. I have another one in Lagos. I bought
some cars but I regret everything now. I am
going to be ashamed both in the market and in
my village because people see me as a big guy.
What of my church? I am finished; I am a Catholic and an active church member who
belongs to many societies. My church members
will now see me as an evil person. I am
exposed to ridicule. Well, many people in Alaba
International Market and other market places
are into armed robbery or other illegal businesses. Like Victor Anamalechi, he is my
gang member and he sells generating sets. He
is equally seen in the market as a big man. The
other person, Ihenacho Igwe (aka Messiah) is
not in Alaba Market, but when he got much
money, he invested in trucks. He also bought some taxis and commercial buses. He really
utilised his money very well but all is now
vanity. "My advice to people is that they should not be
envious of other people that they see in
affluence. Many of them could have acquired
their wealth through illegal means, especially
armed robbery. More so, the money one gets
through armed robbery brings fear and apprehension as one is forced to live in
perpetual fear. Now, I have been living in fear
and the thing I was afraid of all this while has
finally happened to me. I have been arrested
and I don't know my fate yet."

60 Year Old Momma.....Gave Birth To A......Child After When All Hope Had Gone.....
married on September 3, 1998 and
had their first child on December 29,
2014. RITA OKONOBOH chronicles the
couple's journey through the years of
trials to the unfolding of boundless blessings. I waited patiently for the LORD; he
turned to me and heard my cry. He
lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the
mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand. He
put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and
fear the LORD and put their trust in him
(Psalm 40: 1-3).
The above Psalm verses aptly describe
Mrs Tunrayo Alagbe's testimony of the
Lord's goodness as she finally gave birth to a daughter at a few months
shy of 60 years of age.
It was a sunny afternoon on Monday,
January 5, 2015, and the atmosphere
was radiantly purpled by the stylish
outfits of many who had come to witness the naming ceremony of the
lovely daughter of the Alagbes. The
crowd was surprisingly large, even for
the African setting, as many braced the
burning rays beating down on the
premises of the Women Missionary Union (WMU) headquarters of the
Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC),
Total Garden area, Ibadan, just to
show their solidarity with the couple.
As the President of the NBC, Reverend
Dr Supo Ayokunle, affirmed during his address at the naming ceremony,
"This child has, from the beginning,
started breaking records. I have never
seen a naming ceremony that
attracted this kind of crowd. Also, no
naming ceremony has been conducted on the premises before
now. This goes to show that God can
do anything, anytime, anywhere and
anyhow, pleasantly, for his own
people. For those who wait upon God,
it is never over until it is over. This is an occasion for us to understand that
God's ways are not our ways."
The Retired Executive Director, Women
Missionary Union, Nigeria, and a close
friend of the family who anchored the
naming of the baby, Reverend Mrs Yemi Ladokun, took the audience
through the time of waiting. She
showed to the crowd some flowers
from the bouquet used during the
wedding and stated that she had kept
the flowers thinking she would use them during the year after the
wedding during the naming ceremony
of a child but she was wrong as she
had to wait for almost 17 years.
The child was given close to 40 names
including, Halleluyah, Testimony, Esther, Jesulayomi, Ileri-Ayo-Mi,
OkikiJesu, Adepate, Oluwatoyin,
Omoronike, Ibiyemi, Oluremi,
Motunrayo, Mo-F'Oluwa-ke, Aderonke,
Odunola, Eri-Ipe, Ewa-Iyin, Itan-iyanu-
ife, IturaOluwa, Favour, Oluwadamilare, Titilayomi-niwaju-
Oluwa, among other significant names.
'A childless woman has no honour, no
respect, no place'
Speaking with Sunday Tribune on the
experience during the years of anxiety, Mrs Alagbe noted that the
many years of worrying, coupled with
the delay before marriage, contributed
to making the experience quite
worrying. According to her, "I
wouldn't say we were not worried, but God was comforting and
encouraging us. It was not a pleasant
experience at all. We experienced
delay before marriage but this one
was more excruciating. However, God
sustained us." On the most nagging worry during the
times of trial, the couple notes that the
African tendency to look down on a
childless couple was a constant source
of concern. According to the mother,
"In Africa, having children is very important. If you're married and
childless, it's like you have no honour,
no respect, no place. You're nobody,
so to speak."
The father, Paul Alagbe, further stated
that "She would sometimes say if she had known that it would be like this,
she would not marry me as it seems
like she is a problem to me." His wife
affirmed this by stating that "Medically,
I was told he has no problem, but I
was the one whose fallopian tubes were blocked. I felt like I was a
burden to him, like I shouldn't have
come his way and instead allowed him
to live his life."
'Childlessness does not mean you are
married to the wrong person' The president of the NBC, Reverend
Ayokunle, who spoke on challenges
and godly responses noted that
nobility and godliness does not
immune an individual from trials.
According to him, "Childlessness is not a modern-day challenge. The fact that
your family is childless does not mean
you are married to the wrong person.
Some couples who do not have the
problem of childlessness have other
problems. Would you rather exchange childlessness for blindness, for
instance? A problem is a problem but
God is always there."
On her general outlook during the
period of not knowing how things
would turn out, Mrs Alagbe, whom many describe as cheerful, warm and
always ready with a smile, narrated "I
kept hoping. I cherished my personal
relationship with God because I know
that the day you die, this issue of
having children no longer has meaning. So, I was jealously guarding
my personal relationship with God,
especially in relation to eternity. I tried
to enjoy other things God has blessed
me with. Although, I was often
disturbed by that one thing he had not done, I tried to enjoy what he has
done and in my own little way, I
served him, hoping He will do it. I
thought that if He doesn't do it, He
knows why and knows how to
sustain me. That's also why I didn't visit all sort of places because I know
that if I eventually get a child from the
wrong source and I end up in hell,
what use will it be? Besides, God
encouraged me that He will do it and I
trusted in His promise." 'There was pressure on me as the only
surviving male to have a child'
Her husband, Mr Alagbe, was not also
without his own troubles. According
to him, he was constantly reminded
about the need to take the alternative option by getting a second wife. This
was further hinged on his position as
the only surviving male child of his
family. As Mr Alagbe puts it, "We were
six in my family; four of them died and
it was just me and my sister left. All my siblings who died did not have any
children and there was pressure on
me as the only surviving male to have
a child. However, I was convinced by
my faith not to do anything negative."
God never comes too late –Mother Mrs Alagbe, who started treatment in
early 2014, was confirmed pregnant
in April 2014 and the reaction of the
couple when the news first broke is
too much to sufficiently capture in
words. "I didn't believe it. It didn't have much
meaning to me. It was like I was
dreaming. However, as time went on, I
saw it becoming a reality. I just kept
thanking God because He said He will
do it according to his promise in Psalm 40. I know that this miracle is for God's
name to be glorified and for the hope
of people to be reawakened so that
they believe that God still works
miracles. God never comes too late,"
Mrs Alagbe stated. For Mr Alagbe, his reception of the
good news was almost unbelievable.
In his words, "It was like a dream. I
kept asking myself if it was true."
While echoing the joy of motherhood,
Mrs Alagbe stated that "I just praise God. I'm delighted that God kept his
word. In January 2013, there was a
prophecy in our church that God will
do it. Several people came to me and
told me to hold on to that prophecy
because it was for me. In addition to what others had been telling me, and
the support I received, especially from
my church, El-Shaddai Baptist Church,
Pastor Mrs Olateju and many people, I
am happy that God has been faithful to
His word." 'You can still help people even in your
own sorrow'
While acknowledging that going
through childlessness is no trivial task,
Mrs Alagbe advises couples in this
situation to guard their relationship with God whatever the eventual
outcome. As she points out, "Even if at
the end of the day, God doesn't do it, it
is to the advantage of the couple. I
reached that stage where I told God
that if He doesn't do it, I'm okay with His decision because He knows what is
best for me. My advice is that they
should hold on to God and ensure that
their personal relationship with God
stands. They should also do other
things to serve God because when you serve God, you are not likely to be
too sorrowful and you'll be happy to
meet the needs of others and minister
to people. Couples should not
aimlessly trust God but anchor on a
verse on the Bible and trust the eventual manifestation of God's word.
They should also help others. You can
still help people even in your own
sorrow. When you minister to the
needs of people, your burden is
lightened. The couple shouldn't become so averse to others as if
barrenness is the only problem in the
world. Afterall, God has done other
things that they can enjoy and
appreciate. Let them hold on to God."
Mr Alagbe, affirmed by friends and church members to be a friend of
children and who also teaches
children in the church, advises couples
in the situation to ensure that they are
not hostile to people, especially
children, no matter how hard it seems. Taking more wives is courting more
problems –Father
In his advice for men who are
currently undergoing the challenge of
childlessness and who, like him, had
been advised to take a second wife, Mr Alagbe encourages them to fear God,
stating that "If they go for more wives,
they are asking for more problems.
The best thing is to hold on to God and
see beyond the immediate situation.
Right from time, I knew there was a problem but I also considered what
the situation would be if I was the one
who had the problem."
The couple attempted to relive the
priceless memory of viewing the child
for the first time. For Mr Alagbe, "There was anxiety at the time of delivery. I
read Tribune newspapers a lot and I
had read something about a similar
case in which the operation was not
successful and I kept thinking about it.
But when I saw the baby, I almost cried. I was very happy."
For Mrs Alagbe, "I was just happy. I
don't know the words to use. I was
excited. I was thrilled that the baby
had come at last. I had her through
Caesarian section at Vine Branch Medical Centre and at the theatre,
when they told me 'this is your baby;
it's a perfect baby,' I wanted to scream
and say 'Wow! So this is what was in
my womb!' I lack words to explain.
Even though I was in pains, I couldn't sleep throughout that day. I was just
looking at her and I kept saying to
myself, 'So this is you I have been
waiting for. Where did you hide?' I
was really very happy."
The President, Ibadan Baptist Conference, Reverend (Dr) Yemi
Adekunle, in his prayers for the family,
prayed that their faith remains
unshaken and that God's favour will
radiate not just in the family but
through all present. For prayers, encouragement and for
witnessing the ceremony, the Pastor,
First Baptist Church, Ibafo, thanked
and prayed for God's blessings upon
all.

Primate Ayodele Reveals 2015 Prophecies, Says Ebola Will Return To Nigeria
Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate
Elijah Ayodele Babatunde, has urged Nigerians to pray against violence
that may erupt after February presidential elections.
The prominent seer told Daily Independent that 2015 will witness
incidents that will shake the nation to its roots.
He prophesied about President Jonathan and his wife, patience, his
deputy, Namadi Sambo, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, the two
major political parties as well as their leaders and candidates.
Ayodele also spoke on the economy, security, as well as Ebola among
others.
Excerpts:
General elections
Nigerians should observe seven days prayer in January to avert crisis
that may plunge the nation into serious confusion during and after the
polls. This year’s election will throw up a lot of issues. President
Goodluck Jonathan will do everything to win a second term, however,
he needs 14 days prayer to have a peaceful reign to enable him
complete a second term, if elected. International community and some
heads of states will attempt to work against his re-election. Let us pray
to stall violence that will erupt after the presidential election in February
that may affect the conduct of governorship election in many states.
The President should also commit his health and that of his wife to
prayer. Obasanjo, Edwin Clark and former Lagos State governor, Bola
Tinubu, should rebuke what can cut short their political career. They are
in the last political game. New leaders will take over from them soon.
The next Speaker of House of Representatives will not live up to
expectation as he will be a mere stooge of the President. The Senate
will always be at loggerheads with the Presidency. Chairman of
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega
will be confused during the polls.
There will be several gimmicks to cajole the INEC to rig the election.
Prayers must be offered so that the commission will not lose some of
its staff to accident or attack before and during the election. E-voting
will not work. There will be ballot box snatching and stuffing during the
election. Jonathan should do more to fight corruption and rescue the
abducted Chibok girls otherwise opposition will shock him with
propaganda on that. Both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All
Progressives Congress (APC) will soon be polarised by crisis. The
national chairman of PDP, Adamu Mu’azu will have problems and may
be removed from office; tell him to pray.
Jonathan is in the midst of enemies who are after his life. Presidential
jets should be sanctified to avoid artificial disaster. No matter what,
Jonathan will be the last PDP President in Nigeria. I don’t see a
landslide victory in the presidential election. To be frank, neither the
victory of Jonathan or Buhari can guarantee peace except we pray well.
Jonathan should be wary of diplomatic rows with foreign countries.
Jonathan will not take Nigeria to the Promised Land. Let us pray
against the death of an ex-President. Vice President Namadi Sambo
should pray against what may make him witness political redundancy
in office both before and after 2015 polls. I could see his office being
negotiated at higher level.
There won’t be election in some states. Both PDP and APC will share
victory across the country, particularly in the South-West and the
North. The election will be marred by advanced rigging. APC will later
sue PDP. Anambra State governor, Willy Obiano, will have problems
with big names in the state and his predecessor, Peter Obi. APGA’s flag
will soon be swallowed by the PDP. The glory of Lagos APC is fading
except the party hierarchy makes hasty restitution. Time is not on their
side as regards the governorship election. They have committed a
blunder with the choice of Akinwunmi Ambode as governorship
candidate. Only prayer can change the tide. PDP will spring surprises
and shock APC.
If PDP works hard, the party will win Lagos governorship. However, the
party’s candidate, Jimi Agbaje, needs prayers. APC will face an uphill
task to retain Edo and Oyo states. Governor Abiola Ajimobi should be
careful not to lose to Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party. In Rivers State, if
PDP underrates APC, the latter will win, though the election will be
marred with violence. Attempts by the opposition parties to defeat
Governor Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun State will not materialise. If APC
elects right governorship candidate, the party will dislodge PDP from
Ondo State in 2016. PDP will win Delta and Cross River states but there
will be crisis in Abia and Ebonyi states even though the party will win
there.
APC will win in Sokoto. PDP will find it hard to retain Kaduna State
because there will be serious crisis there. Kano State will be difficult for
PDP to win, so also Katsina State. PDP will win Jigawa and Taraba.
Prayer must be offered to avert the death of former ministers from the
South-West and South-South and to douse serious political tension in
Kwara, Jos, Ekiti, Plateau, Kano, Kaduna, Imo, Delta, Akwa Ibom,
Ebonyi, Yobe and Taraba States. PDP has messed up in Kwara, the
victory will go to APC. Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu
Obanikoro should pray against political disappointment.
Economy
The stock exchange will rise in the early part of the year. Effect of
devaluation of naira will continue till around August. Minister of
Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, despite her World Bank background, will
not be able to make appreciable impact on the economy. MTN and
Etisalat should pray against management crisis. Glo workers should
pray against sudden sack. Many states will not function well as result
of the effects of accumulated debt. The governor of Central Bank of
Nigeria will have crises. He may be denied a second term. Some banks
will collapse and one of the dead banks will be resuscitated.
Flour, sugar and fuel prices will be increased in the year. There will be
serious crises in OPEC and the Controller-General of Customs and the
group managing director of the NNPC will be removed. State of the
nation. Prayer must be offered against recurrence of Ebola in Nigeria in
the year. The Presidential Villa called Aso Rock will soon have a new
name. It may not be in 2015 but certainly it will happen. I also foresee
more building collapse in Lagos in the year. Climatic condition will
cause a lot of problems and kidnapping will take a different dimension
in the year, so, please, let us counter these with prayer before hand.
Let traditional rulers in the South-West pray against infernos that may
engulf their palaces. Journalists and Nollywood stars need prayers
against sudden death. National secretariat of Nigeria Union of
Journalists (NUJ) will experience crisis. Also, Oba of Benin, Emirs of
Nupe and Zaria should pray against sickness. Some universities will be
shut because of cultism and some Vice Chancellors will be queried. We
need to pray to avoid plane crash in Lagos, Abuja and Kano airports.
We need prayers against ocean surge in Nigeria and other African
countries this year.
The South-West must be careful against the sudden outbreak of polio
and cholera. We need prayers against fluid outbreak occasioned by
poultry products.
There will be fresh cases of Ebola in the year, let those in the health
sector double their efforts. We should pray against death of one of the
outgoing governors, a first lady and communication guru. National
Union of Road Transport and Workers (NURTW) will face serious
infighting and killings and court actions. We must pray against
bloodshed among their members in different states. Some states in
Nigeria will collapse from 2018, owing due to excessive borrowing from
overseas.
Insecurity
I see flames from bombings in several parts of the country, including
the South-West and more abduction of school pupils. Efforts should be
intensified by security operatives to forestall that. Boko Haram will
come up with different strategies to attack the nation. There are three
groups of Boko Haram in Nigeria already. Only prayers can weaken their
strength. Countries pretending they want to assist Nigeria to curb Boko
Haram are not our friends. If they are allowed, they will create more
problems for the nation. Chief of Staff to the President will have issues
with his boss and some Ministers. Security details of the President will
also be changed.
Sports
I foresee a trophy being lifted by Chelsea Football Club this year in
