Police Choke Dave Chappelle On His Movie Set

During a Thursday night show at the Saenger Theatre
in New Orleans, comedian Dave Chappelle reportedly
told a crowd that he was once choked by a police
officer while filming a movie in the city. The act wasn't caught on tape, but Jarvis DeBerry of The Times-Picayune retold the story: Chappelle said he was working on his "first movie"
here in New Orleans. He was playing a mugger, he
said. He was dressed for the part. The movie set was
surrounded with police tape. He ducked under it. Then
a police officer set upon him and immediately started
choking him. According to the Internet Movie Database, Dave
Chappelle played a mugger in the 1993 movie
"Undercover Blues," part of which was filmed in New
Orleans. The movie was shot in the summer of 1992.
Filming ended the same month Chappelle celebrated
his 19th birthday. One of the women working on the set saw what was
happening to the actor and yelled to the police officer
that he belonged on the set. After relaxing his hold on
Chappelle's neck the police officer said, according to
the comedian, "Well why didn't he say something?" The weirdest thing about being a black man being
choked by the police, Chappelle said, is that you don't
even wonder why it's happening. You just think, he
said, "OK, here we go." Racial disparities in the criminal justice system and police use of force have been in the news following a
string of police killings of unarmed black men. The use of chokeholds in particular received national
media attention after New York City Police officer Daniel Pantaleo was caught on video putting unarmed Eric Garner into a chokehold that led to Garner's death — supposedly for resisting arrest after officers
stopped him for allegedly selling untaxed cigarettes. A
grand jury on December 3 decided not to indict
Pantaleo for Garner's death.

Jeremih Got Arrested For Fighting In A Plane

R&B singer Jeremih was arrested Friday at Newark
Airport ... after trying to strong-arm a friend onto a
plane.Port Authority officials tell us Jeremih was
travelling with members of his band on US Air.
Apparently they were late, because Jeremih barely
made it onto the jetway that leads to the plane but several members of his band were left high and dry
when the door closed.Jeremih and a friend somehow
pried open the jetway door and at least one of the
wayward guys scurried through.Here's the thing.
That's illegal. So Jeremih and his friend were yanked
off the plane, arrested and charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct. The guy who tried sneaking
onto the plane was charged with defiant trespass.Not
the first time he's caused a Fuddruckus in public.

Obanikoro has sued PDP for 'manipulating' it's
gubernatorial primaries which took place on Monday

manipulated the results and after petitioning the party nothing was done about it, which made him
ahead for a Federal High court in Abuja. "We must stand by the truth and the truth is that

on Thursday, the party would reply according to its
guidelines but it has not responded as we speak. "When I noticed that the party did not respond, we
went to a Federal High Court and sued the party. "I stand for a greater Lagos and anything that will
derail that journey will be fought with every drop of
my blood," he said. Describing chief Bode George and Ogunlewe he said;
"Chief Olabode George thinks that he could just bark
and people like us would sit down but I think by now,

Two Lesbians Sentenced To 14 Years In Prisonment In Anambra State

The police in Ogidi Anambra state have arrested two
young ladies identified as Chioma from Umudioka in
Dunukofia council area, of the state and one Amaka
for allegedly engaging in lesbianism According to
reports on Information NG, the suspects were caught while indulging in the unholy act in a beer parlour

members of the homosexuality and lesbianism

Sierra Leones Bans Christmass Day Celebration For The Fear Of Spreading The Ebola Disease

Sierra Leone has banned public celebrations over
Christmas and the New Year, because of the
Ebola crisis. Soldiers are to be deployed on the streets
throughout the festive period to keep people
indoors, officials say. Christmas is widely celebrated in Sierra Leone,
even though Islam is the largest religion. Sierra Leone has the most cases of Ebola in the
current outbreak. Some 6,580 have died, mostly in Guinea, Liberia
and Sierra Leone. President Ernest Bai Koroma told traditional
leaders to stop traditional practices as part of
efforts to end Ebola in the country, Awoko
newspaper reports. The president added that despite international
aid, it seemed "as if the cases are increasing",
especially in north-western areas such as Port
Loko and the Bombali region. Meanwhile in Mali, the last person still to be
treated for Ebola has been cured leaving no more
cases in the country, the health ministry
announced. The country recorded eight cases of Ebola –
including six deaths – and is continuing to monitor
a number of people who were in contact with

Post-graduate students of the University of Nigeria,
Nsukka, UNN, barricaded the office of the Vice-
Chancellor, Professor Ben Ozumba, in protest against
hike in their tuition fees, describing
the increase from N69,000 to N145,000 as
outrageous. The placard-carrying protesters, numbering over 200,
marched round the school and barricaded the VC's
office. The students say "To us, the increment is
outrageous. We are not against any increment, but it
should be reasonable. It is not fair to increase the
fees for a session of nine months from N69,000 to
N145,000. Where do they expect us to get that kind of
money? We will continue this protest until the university reduces it. I do not think it is a crime for
one to further his education in UNN." The Dean of Post-Graduate School, Professor A.
Ubachukwu, addressed the students, saying that: "Government does not give any allocation for
postgraduate school as it is assumed that post-
graduate students are adult and can pay cost
