Why Yoruba Ladies Have the Biggest Butts in Nigeria – Charles Novia

Nollywood filmmaker and self-
proclaimed culture critic
Charles Novia says there should
be no fuss about international
stars who have big butts,
because African women are
naturally endowed will theirs
are usually artificial. He
explains that Nicki Minaj, Kim
Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez
should be jealous of Mercy
Johnson, Yvonne Okoro and a
lot of African women –
especially Yoruba women.
Read his piece below.
I know the hidden agenda of
Kim Kardashian, Nikki Minaj
and Jennifer Lopez. Yes, I
know.
These ladies are jealous of
Mercy Johnson, Yvonne Okoro
and one of my female relatives
in the village.
Na today real Black women don
dey get Big Yansh? Why the
sudden obsession with Kim
Kardashian’s butt by the
Western World? Ehn?
And the funny thing is, oyinbo
women are now getting butt
transplants while those who
can’t afford it are using butt
pads, or Yansh Pads as we term
it here sometimes.
Now, this is the humour when it
comes to Nigerian and perhaps
African women. When God
made the African woman, he
might have taken an extra rib
from Adam to bless the African
women in most parts of the
continent. That is why South
African women have….
(*speechless)
Narrowing it down to Nigeria
and the ethnic groups, it is
debatable but research has
shown that Yoruba ladies just
might have the biggest butts in
Nigeria. I am likely to concur
with this because ever since I
was born and all the years I
was growing up, the only
images of Yoruba women I
could remember from the
black and white music clips of
those days and Owambe
Parties, were images of some
bad a*s conservative butt
shaking which never got one’s
parents incensed enough to
switch off the television lest we
got ‘spoilt’ but would sooner
ask us to close our eyes when
images of oyinbos kissing came
on the screen.
In fact, when I first watched a
clip of Fela Kuti’s stage
performance in 1977 or 1978
on NTV ( as it was called then),
it wasn’t the ‘shakara, shakara’
chorus he was singing which
caught my fancy. It was the
unbridled butt shaking of his
dancing girls which tormented
my poor, young innocent soul
for years.
Then, Charly Boy came in 1987,
with his outrageous music
video, ‘Big Bottom’ and not
even the morally-correct NTA
could ban it off the airwaves
then even with the tempting
close-ups of women with Big
Yanshes in that video. Then one
lady singer called Uche Ibeto
released a video titled ‘Jigida’
where she did some
provocative butt shaking as she
screamed in a simulated moan
‘ligiligi, ligiligi, sha, sha, sha! ‘.
And no one banned that video
then because it ‘projected an
African dance’.
Back to the meat of my story,
today’s fashion is a conspiracy
to ensure that Butt-om Power
will keep on ruling. Everything
with women’s fashion seems to
bring out the shape of their
butts these days. And the Kim
Ks and Nikki Minajs are there
to help you out, if you have any
doubts.
Sadly, in Nigeria, I am told that
Butt Pads for ladies are in high
demand in the market. Why?
Because many young ladies
want to have butts like Kim
Kardashian.
I need to ask why an African
lady would want to put on
artificial pads on what has
naturally been padded from
heaven. Because of Kim?
Fela Kuti did sing that the
African People’s problems start
from the back. ‘Na from BACK
yioooooo’.
Don’t get me wrong. I
appreciate butt. Good butt. And
for those who got it among the
ladies, thank God for
‘butt’ering your bread. But
when butts are being used now
as weapons of distraction,
Houston, we have a problem!
Why did I write this satire
today? Two days ago, at Garki 2,
a young lady with well-formed
hips came out of a building and
stood by the road to flag down
a taxi. I tell you, Kim K has
nothing on this woman’s butt
and I wasn’t looking at her o. I
was humming Tisha Cobbs
‘Break Every Chain’ when I saw
her. The next thing I knew, an
SUV rammed me from behind.
Gbosa!
A well-dressed young man
came out and apologised
profusely as I looked at my
dented rear bumper. Whilst
apologising, he kept glancing at
the young lady a few metres
away.
‘Mr Man!’ I said, ‘before Yansh
will kill you, go and meet that
girl and take her contacts so
that you will know that the bills
you will pay for fixing my dent
will be worth it!’
The Guy nor slack. He went to
the Lady and a couple of
minutes later, they both walked
back to his SUV.
I don’t care to know what went
down with him and the
endowed lass but all I know is
that I have a new rear bumper
at his expense which was fixed
yesterday.
Obviously that kind of person
would not care to pay for
bumpers. What with the way
he rammed my car from
behind, it doesn’t take much
imagination to visualise the
other types of ramming he
loves doing behind closed
doors.

Female Suicide Bombers Hit Maiduguri Market, 30 Dead

Two female suicide bombers struck at a
crowded market in Maiduguri, the
Borno State capital at about 11:30 this
morning, killing 30 people and injuring
many more.
Lawal Audu, a member of the vigilante
group, the civilian JTF confirmed the
attack saying so many Boko Haram
fighters are now in Maiduguri, the
Borno state capital.
“They followed the IDPs to come to
town. They even slaughter two people
in one of the camps and they have
been going about causing havoc in
some parts of the state.”
According to Lawal, the soldiers who
were working with them went to the
scene of the blast and told them that,
security have cordon the area, but did
not speak to them about the casualty
figure.
Just yesterday, the some suspected
Boko Haram militants on Toyota Hilux
vehicles and motorcycles attacked
Damasak town in Borno State,  killing
scores of residents.
The gunmen were said to have stormed
the town around 7 am. The gunmen
were disguised as traders to avert all
kinds of suspicion.

Oh no! Armed robbers attack Denrele while returning from wedding

So during the weekend, Denrele Edun
was robbed in Festac, Lagos and he lost
his Passports, visa and more to the
culprits. Read his narration below:
Hear him “My weekend was
DISASTROUS! I got robbed at gunpoint
by 7 armed robbers around Festac area
just as I left a wedding reception. As
always, I was calm and controlled. Next
thing, they recognized me and started
screaming in their weed induced voices,
"Denrele fun wan ni millions" (give us
millions).  Next thing, they saw my
backpack in the car…we started fighting
for it and then a hot punch to my face!
After so much struggling, they made
away with my bag! Here's the best part;

Wole Soyinka opens up on how he's been battling cancer

Renowned playwright and Nobel
Laureate, Prof. Oluwole Soyinka, has
disclosed his health status.
The maverick writer announced that he
was diagnosed of cancer last December.
An expert and Founder of African
Cancer Centre, Lagos, Prof. Olu
Williams, however assured Soyinka that
he would “not die of cancer.”
Williams, who revealed that Soyinka had
the disease because of his old age, said
the playwright will only “die with the
ailment.”
Soyinka, who revealed his cancer status
at a press conference at the June 12
Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State,
today, said he had decided to open up
so as to create awareness about cancer
disease and to help people take
measures to prevent it or seek prompt
medical attention for cure.
The Nobel Laureate said he survived the
silent killer disease because of early
detection, treatment and proper
dieting, adding that it has also dawned
on him that the family has a history of
cancer ailment.
He noted that his initial reaction when
it dawned on that he has cancer was to
see it as one of those challenges and
nuisance that should be dealt with,
adding that a time he considered it “an
unwanted squatter in his body and had
to get rid of it whether it is a slow
growing one or malignant.”
Soyinka who showed a crest to attest to
his surviving the disease, did not reveal
to reporters the nature of the cancer he
was treated for.
His son, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka, who is
also the Commissioner for Health in
Ogun State, later told The Nation his
father was treated for “prostate
cancer.”

Kidnappers pose as Aliko Dangote on Facebook, kidnap beauty queen

The Lagos state Police command has
rescued one Miss Sa’adat Bibire, who
is the current Miss Nigeria
International 2014 & daughter of an
aide to Kwara state Governor, from
her abductors.
The beauty queen was abducted two
weeks ago by a gang of kidnappers
who lured her into visiting Warri,
Delta state from Lagos by
impersonating Africa’s richest man,
Aliko Dangote on the social media
platform facebook.
Pardaing the suspects before
journalists on Wednesday, the Lagos
state police commissioner, said “the
gang is made up of students of the
Delta state Polytechnic Ozoro…they
opened a Facebook account
disguising as Aliko Dangote and
contacted Sa'adat.
They invited her to Warri with the
promise to make her Dangote brand
ambassador. On getting to Warri,
Sa'adat was kidnapped and taken to
a place on the outskirts of Ozoro
town in Isoko Local Government
Area in Delta state. The kidnappers
then contacted her family and asked
for N20m ransom, which was
supposed to be paid into a Malaysian
account.  We began a manhunt for
them after they contacted the girl’s
family but only one of them was
arrested while the others are
currently on the run.”
In his statement to the police, one of
her abductors, 23 year old Patrick
Ifada said he was lured into the
kidnap gang because of the money
offered
"I accepted to join the gang because
of the money involved. We opened a
fake Facebook account pretending to
be Alhaji Aliko Dangote and we
convinced her to come over to Delta
State to meet the businessman. At
first, our ransom was N20 million.
When they were not forthcoming
with the money, we brought it down
to N15 million and then N10 million.
I was the one staying with the victim
in our hideout. We were using the
quarters of one of our members,
Destiny. We are five in number and I
was promised a huge sum. Other
gang members are Destiny, Marcus
Omajuwa, Ugada and Chuka.
We are all students of Delta State
Polytechnic, Ozoro, ND 1. I was
studying Computer Science. She was
in our hideout for about two weeks.
We asked the Special Adviser to pay
the ransom into a Malaysian account
that one Fred helped us to set
up. None of us raped her. Destiny
told us we were only going to make
money from her family, and not to
assault her"

Obasanjo rubbishes National Assembly, says it’s an Assembly of Thieves,Looters

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo,
today Nov. 26th rubbished the National
Assembly, saying it is an Assembly of
looters and thieves. He said this while
speaking at the public presentation of
the autobiography of Justice Mustapha
Akanbi, in Abuja. Some of what he said
below...
"Apart from shrouding the
remunerations of the National
Assembly in opaqueness and
without transparency, they indulge
in extorting money from
departments, contractors and
ministries in two ways"
"They do so during visits to their
projects and programmes and in
the process of budget approval
when they build up budgets for
ministries and departments, who
agree to give it back to them in
contracts that they do not
execute. They do similar things
during their inquiries.”
"Corruption in the National
Assembly also includes what they
call constituency projects which
they give to their agents to
execute but invariably, full
payment is made with little or no
job done. In all this, if the
executive is not absolutely above
board, the offending members of
the National Assembly resort to
subtle or open threat, intimidation
and blackmail. When the
executive pay the huge money,
normally in millions of dollars, all
is quiet in form of whitewashed
reports that fail to deal effectively
with the issues investigated.”
"When the guard is the thief, only
God can keep the house safe and
secure. But I am optimistic that
sooner than later, we will
overcome. God will give us guards
of integrity and honesty with the
fear of God and genuine love of
their people and their country.
“Today, there is no institution of
government that is not riddled
with corruption, not even the
military. As the people cry out,
where then is the salvation.”
Obasanjo said

Al Jazeera investigation of fake doctors leads to 3 arrests in Delta state

African journalists, Nigeria's Rosemary
Nwaebuni and Ghana's Anas Arameyaw
go undercover to expose fake doctors in
Delta State, leading to 3 arrests. Read
the full story and watch the 25-minute
documentary below...
In this week’s episode of Africa
Investigates, Anas Arameyaw Anas
and Rosemary Nwaebuni go
undercover with secret cameras to
expose fake doctors in Delta
State, leading to three on-camera
arrests.
Nigerian law forbids abortions,
except in cases where the
patient’s life is in danger. Despite
this, Nigeria’s Fake Doctors shows
Rosemary, who is not even
pregnant, twice being offered
abortion services from unlicensed
practitioners.
Precious Johnson Chuckwudi, who
operates a pharmacy in Delta
State, offered to provide an
abortion - and agreed the price -
despite Rosemary’s negative
pregnancy test, while Mr and Mrs
Ogboru offered Rosemary an
abortion in the dirty backroom of a
bar, without conducting a
pregnancy test.
The Nigerian Medical and Dental
Association (NMDA) and Ministry
of Health (MoH) have confirmed
that neither Chuckwudi nor the
Ogboru’s are licensed and
registered as medical doctors and
that their shops are not registered
clinics. Nigerian police arrested Mr
and Mrs Ogboru on camera on the
basis of evidence that Rosemary
and Anas filmed.
Nigerian police also arrested
Charles Igudala, who operates a
clinic at Dictat Royal Home in
Warri, Delta State, after he was
covertly filmed offering medical
services and injections to Anas in
extremely unsanitary conditions.
The NMDA and MoH confirmed
that Igudala is not a licensed and
registered doctor, while Dr Alfred
Ebiakofa of the Nigerian Ministry
of Health said that Igudala had
been a target of the Nigerian
health authorities for some time,
but that they “had not been able
to catch him before.”
Rosemary and Anas also film other
fake doctors wrongly diagnosing
healthy patients with malaria and
typhoid, as well using as a
Quantum Resonance Analyser, a
highly controversial machine of
unproven effectiveness that is
used to illegally diagnose - merely
on the basis of tones and lights  - a
variety of serious illnesses to
perfectly healthy patients.
Spell of The Albino, the last
investigation Anas filmed for Africa
Investigates, won a One World
Media Award and was nominated
for a Royal Television Society
Award.
Nigeria’s Fake Doctors, the third
episode of Africa Investigates,
premiered on Wednesday, 26
November 2014 at 22:30 GMT /
Thursday, 20 November at 00:30
CAT, with repeats on 27
November at 11:30, 28 November
at 05:30, 29 November at 18:30,
and 30 November at 07:30 CAT.

Karrueche Tran announces once again...that she's single...

Guess the MediaTakeOut report is true.
But why announce this when we all
know she will go back to him. It's not
the first time he's cheated...and she
keeps going back! Duh!

Zayo is the next big thing - DJ Klem and Puffy T

Anybody who is familiar with the
Nigerian music industry would have
heard of Zayo, the winner of KOGA
Open House Competition.
The singer who has finished work on
three singles (Ewomo, Colored, Basia) to
his name would be releasing a new
single soon. The singer has been touted
as the next big thing in the music
industry. He is signed to KOGA Records.
Speaking about Zayo, ace music
producer Puffy T, who produced his
single ‘Basia’ said “Zayo is multi-
talented, he is too good. He can sing,
rap and write songs. He is very flexible
when it comes to music. Initially I was
not too sure about working with him,
but after I heard him, I knew it would
be worth it. The music industry should
watch out for him. I can assure you that
in six months, if he has the right
promotions, he would take the industry
by storm. We are working on two new
songs and trust me; I was impressed
when I heard them. He really killed
those songs.  He has all it takes to be a
star and he would be a star.”
According to DJ Klem, who produced his
single ‘Colored’ “He is a very talented
and good person. I would say my work
experience with him was fun.  He
listens to advice and takes to correction.
I don’t think he can be compared to
other artists, although he’s an upcoming
artist, but judging by his talent and the
fact that he listens and takes to
corrections, I see him rise above his
present state in no time. He has the
potential and talent to be a star in the
future. He is very talented.
Zayo who will be releasing Ewo Omo on
Friday has already released ‘Basia’ which
was produced by Puffy T. The videos of
Basia and Ewo Omo were shot by
Clarence.
Below is Behind the Scene clips of his
video...

Bitter Experience:- Buhari’s Plane Denied Landing In Makurdi Airport

A chartered aircraft
conveying All Progressives
Congress, APC, presidential
aspirant, Gen. Mohammadu
Buhari (rtd) and his
entourage, was on
Wednesday, November 26,
2014 allegedly denied landing
rights by the authorities of
the Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria, FAAN,
in Makurdi, the Benue State
capital.
The former Head of State,
alongside his entourage, was
travelling from Bayelsa State to
Makurdi to woo delegates of his
party ahead of the APC
delegates congress scheduled
for December but had their
flight denied permission to
touch down in Makurdi.
A source said: “the flight was
earlier granted landing
permission but we were all
surprised when half an hour to
his arrival, a counter directive
was issued mid-flight thereby
forcing the aircraft to head to
Abuja.
“What they did was evil and
dangerous, what if the plane
was low on fuel, what do think
would have happened?
Desperation has set in in our
politics and it is posing grave
danger to our democracy.”
The Benue State chairman of
the APC, Comrade Abba Yaro,
confirmed the incident
describing it as unfortunate.
He explained that loyalists of
the party, who had laid siege to
the airport yesterday morning
were disappointed and had to
disperse when they learnt of
the unfortunate development.
He said: “We will certainly
react to this ugly incident
because what they have done
was not only callous and wicked
but also unacceptable in
modern day Nigeria.”
All attempts to speak with
officials of FAAN in Makurdi on
the matter failed as they all
declined to comment on the
issue.

We Are Ready To Fight Boko Haram – Female Hunter, Ladi

They may be known as the
weaker s*x but in the battle to
flush out Boko Haram from
Nigerian territory, they stand
equal with their male
counterparts. Fearless, pretty
and bold, the female hunters of
Adamawa State fear neither
man nor woman. To them, the
common enemy is not their
gender but Boko Haram.
Ladi is a dark-skinned young
lady in her 20s. Looking at her,
you would hardly believe that
she possesses the boldness to
confront members of the
terrorist sect. In fact, you
would pass her off as a young
man due to her masculine
features but she is in all
respects a lady. She smiles as
the reporter gapes at her,
wondering whether he is seeing
double. But she told Sunday
New Telegraph that she was
motivated by the desire to join
in the effort to save her nation
from the rampaging terrorists.
She is not alone, our
correspondent gathered, as
there are a number of female
hunters engaged in the Civilian
Joint Task Force. They are all
part of a civilian vigilante
coalition known as Ibn
Fadlallah’s forces. Barely
literate and armed with dane
guns as well as bows and
arrows, they risk lives helping
the armed forces to hunt
members of the sect in the
jungles of the North-East states
of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
Asked why she mustered the
courage to join the effort, Ladi
replied: “Boko Haram’s days
are numbered. We are not
afraid and we are ever ready to
fight them. “Me, fear death?
Never. This is because I believe
that we shall all taste it
someday,’’ said Ladi, with
boldness etched on her face.
Ladi, like other male volunteers
was optimistic that, with
support and motivation they
would succeed. “I can assure
you that, with support,
encouragement and assistance
we can play our own role in
fighting the monster called
Boko Haram.
“We need support from
government and individuals to
cater for our families,” she
added, brandishing her dane
gun. Though she is married,
she declined to disclose
personal details for security
reasons. Ladi and her
colleagues say they dare to
confront the insurgents with
the inferior weapons in their
hands, vowing that, “If you are
committed and have faith in
God, you will succeed. We know
they (Boko Haram) are using
sophisticated weapons, but that
will not deter us from facing
them squarely. “They thought
we would be afraid; never! One
can kill a snake with his or her
little stick; commitment,
resilience and above all faith
are the key factors,” she
concluded.
Ladi is part of the large army
of hunters and CJTF which
battled Boko Haram after it
tried to install Amirs (leaders)
in Maiha, a town in Adamawa
State. They foiled the move and
killed several members of the
sect. The civilian force also
helped the armed forces to
liberate some of the captured
towns.
A state government official
involved in the recruitment of
the hunters and CJTF told our
correspondent that it was in
order to stem the tide that the
idea of drafting the local
hunters allegedly versed in the
use of voodoo powers came up.
“We are in doubt about the
sincerity of Nigerian soldiers in
the whole operation, and we
sense complicity as what is
happening. It could not have
been possible without any form
of collusion, so we began to
think of other options,” said a
community leader in Mubi,
AbdurRahman Kwacham.
Afterwards, the civilian force
was mobilised to tackle the
insurgents. Ibn Fadlalallah’s
army of local hunters,
vigilantes and CJTF members
were said to have been
mobilised by creating alliances
with towns to fortify and
defend themselves against Boko
Haram. “These brave warriors
have promised to liberate the
North-East from Boko Haram.
They are preparing and
engaging in combat in
Adamawa and Borno. All brave
citizens have been invited to
join the legions,” said a
community leader who didn’t
want to be named. In the first
operation, the local hunters and
vigilante group were reported
to have overwhelmed the
insurgents. They confronted
the militants in their hundreds,
killing dozens of the extremists
and recapturing the town.
Residents said the local hunters
were stationed in some areas
for four days, mapping out
strategies on how to recapture
Mubi before they finally took
on the insurgents. However, the
recapture of the towns by the
civilian force elicited jubilation,
with residents chanting songs of
victory to God.

FG To Buy Cooking Stoves With N9.2bn For Rural Women

The Federal Executive
Council on Wednesday
approved the purchase of
N9.2billion worth of clean
cook stoves and wonder bags
for rural women under the
National Clean Cooking
Scheme.
Wonder bag is a non-electric
slow cooker invented by Sarah
Collins, a south African eco-
entreprenuer, who came up
with the idea six years ago
during a power cut, when she
decided to keep her dinner
cooking by surrounding the pan
with cushions.
The council also awarded a
contract of N60.9billion to an
indigenous firm, KaKatar CE
Limited, for the provision of
engineering infrastructure for
Kyami District, Zone C, Abuja.
Supervising Minister of
Information, Dr. Nurudeen
Muhammed; Minister of
Environment, Mrs. Lawrecia
Mallam; and Minister of the
Federal Capital Territory,
Senator Bala Muhammed,
briefed State House
correspondents at the end of
the meeting presided over by
Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Muhammed said the
N9.2billion inclusive of Value
Added Tax was approved for
the procurement of 750,000
units of clean cook stove and
18,000 wonder bags.
He said the stoves are expected
to be delivered by Messrs
Integra Renewable Energy
Services Limited within a
period of 12 weeks.
He noted that the stoves which
will be assembled locally, will
provide jobs to Nigerians
among other benefits.
The minister said, “The
National Clean Cooking Scheme
is an aggressive drive to
engender clean cooking culture
amongst the poor rural women,
to reduce and possibly
eliminate cooking with solid
fossil which is detrimental to
health.
“The scheme is expected to
provide 20 million clean stoves
over a five-year period at the
rate of four million stoves
yearly which will be distributed
without charge.
“It will also reduce incessant
felling of trees which exposes
the country to ecological
problems.

2015 Election- Jonathan Will Sweep Poll In South West – Survey

The hope of President
Goodluck Jonathan of
sweeping the Presidential poll
in the South West geo-
political zone in 2015 has
brightened up with the result
of the opinion poll conducted
by a political group,
‘Forerunners Group’, and
which was made available to
journalists in Ibadan.
Forerunners’ officials, at a
press briefing told newsmen at
the Nigeria Union of Journalists
(NUJ) Press Centre, Iyaganku,
Ibadan, that 58.2 per cent of
the non-partisan persons in the
zone had declared their
support for Jonathan’s re-
election come 2015. Director-
General of the group, Hareter
Babatunde Oralusi, said the
group arrived at the
percentage of the non-partisan
persons willing to support the
President’s re-election based
on an independent survey
(opinion poll) conducted by the
group.
According to him, “the phase
one of the poll conducted in the
South West is to determine the
number of the people
registered with political parties
and the statistics show that 14.6
per cent of the population in
the region are card carrying
members of one political party
or the other and this indicated
that 85.4 per cent are non-
partisan.
“The phase two is to determine
the size of non-partisan general
public in the South West that is
willing to support President
Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election
in 2015 and the outcome
showed that 58.2 per cent of
the non-partisan persons were
willing to support President
Jonathan’s re-election.
“Out of the voting population,
12.6 per cent of non-partisan
persons were undecided on
who they were willing to
support, while 29.2 per cent of
non-partisan persons were
willing to support other
candidates from different
political parties,” the DG stated.
Oralusi said the 2015
Presidential election in Nigeria
would be similar to President
Barrack Obama’s re-election
based on the result of the
survey and could be predicted
if necessary machineries were
put in place.
“President Goodluck Jonathan
will not only be re-elected as
president but he will be re-
elected with overwhelming
majority votes.”
