My Father Made Me A Suicide Bomber,13 Year Old Tweeny Speaks Out.

A 13 year old suicide bomber, Zaharau Babangida, who was arrested by the police, shocked residents of Kano yesterday following her confession of how she was conscripted as suicide bomber by her biological father, Vanguard reports. Zaharau who is from Damataru in Yobe State told bewildered city dwellers in the wake of the twin bomb blast which rocked Kano textile market on December 10 that, "It began one day when my father took my mum and I to a forest in Bauchi where we met people claiming to be working for God".
"In the Bauchi forest I met some other girls who I guessed were my age mate and their leader told us to give our lives to God and enjoy the bounties of heaven... "I was not moved by the soul searching preaching of bounties in the heaven and it was at this point, their leader resorted to threat and intimidation to obtain my consent. We were shown a deep hole where the leader of the group threatened to bury us alive at a point if any of us refused to play along, and at another time he picked a big gun and threatened to shoot anyone who fails to obey his command." "It was at this point my father stepped forward to persuade me to play along, and told me to prepare to die as martyr and clear the way for him to join me soon". "When I was confronted with option of death, I chose to play along hoping to find an escape route one day". Speaking on the Kano bomb blast, Zaharau Babangida said, "I and two other girls were conveyed to Kano and quartered at the outskirt of the city by a man I could hardly remember his name, and this same man conveyed all of us to the market square and deployed us at strategic positions at Kwari market on the day we struck. "I was taken aback when my partners were shattered to pieces barely a second after they detonated. I then rushed out of the scene to pick a commercial rickshaw to a hospital in Dawanau area of the city for medical treatment,
and doctors were already attending to me when the driver of the Keke NAPEP resurfaced and showed me a metal object and requested to know whether it was mine of which I answered in affirmative. "I told him the object he dangled before me is a bomb and its mine, and in no time armed soldiers picked me from my sick bed to their headquarters." Meanwhile, a suicide bomber who rammed into a military check point in Bajoga, Gombe State in an attempt to perpetrate mass killings of troops and innocent civilians, yesterday failed to accomplish his mission, the Defence Headquarters' has said. In a statement signed by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, the attempt by the terrorist to escape also failed as he was brought down by vigilant soldiers when he tried to flee after hitting a military Amoured Personnel Carrier with his IED laden Honda car. The explosives which failed to detonate have been evacuated and handed to the police. Also in Kano, security forces have raided the terrorists' hideout in Nasarawa Local Government Area leading to the arrest of bomb making experts who are already helping in the investigation into activities of bombers lately. Meanwhile, the Military High Command has directed troops deployed in all locations of the counter terrorism campaign to sustain the tempo of operations all through the period of seasonal celebrations and ensure that the intention of terrorists to attack civilian target while avoiding troops is duly frustrated. Wole Soyinka Fires Back At Obasanjo Called Him A Shameless Man

In reaction to former President Olusegun Obasanjo's controversial autobiography titled - 'My Watch', Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, who is one of the personalities slammed by OBJ in the book, has fired his own shot. He expressed his disappointment in a piece titled - 'Watch And Pray, Watch And Prey', wherein he described Obasanjo as a compulsive liar. Obasanjo had written this about Prof. Soyinka, "For Wole, no one can be good, nor can anything be spot-on politically except that which emanates from him or is ordained by him. His friends and loved ones will always be right and correct no matter what they do or fail to do. 2 Arrested With Human Skull And Another 4 Armed Robbers Die In An AutoCrash

Akure Police detectives have arrested two
suspected ritualists with a human skull on the
Ibillo-Isua Expressway in Akoko South-East Local
Government Area of Ondo State.

Also, four armed robbers met their death in an
auto crash after attacking a team of policemen,
while on patrol on the Idanre Road in Akure
metropolis.

Police Commissioner in the state, Isaac Eke said
the four armed robbers were the killers of two
policemen at a road block in Akure last month.

It was gathered that after the robbery,
information reached the policemen attached to
the 'B' Division of the state Police Command,
who gave them a hot chase.

Their get-away vehicle, a white Hilux Vehicle
marked 11/ 260 FG said to have been snatched at
Ifon area of the state, crashed into a church fence
and the four of them died on the spot.

Items recovered from them include two AK-47
rifles belonging to Okuta Elerinla Police Division
said to have been carted away from the two
deceased Policemen they shot dead in the state
last month.

Also recovered were 126 live ammunition, three
magazines, N160,120, two number plates (Edo
State), 21 handsets, a substance suspected to be
dynamite and charms.

Speaking on the suspected ritualists, the police
chief said policemen, while on stop-and-search
duty on Ibilo-Isua Expressway, intercepted the
suspects, who wrapped the human skull in a
black polythene bag.

President Jonathan's Christmass Message To The Nation Over 2015

A message from president Jonathan

Dear Compatriots,

I greet and felicitate with you all once again as
we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour,
Jesus Christ. I join all of our Christian compatriots
in giving thanks to God Almighty for the divine gift
of Jesus Christ the Messiah whose earthly
incarnation we commemorate today. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who the
Prophet Isaiah heralded as the Prince of Peace
and Wonderful Counselor, I believe it is very
appropriate that we all, Christians and non-
Christians alike, reflect more deeply on the
virtues and ideals which the Messiah espoused during his earthly mission. To my mind, there can be no doubt that the
greater internalization of the virtues of love for
our fellowmen, tolerance, Godliness, honesty,
fairness to others, selflessness, and peaceful co-
existence with others, by all adult Nigerians, and
the inculcation of the same in our youth, will definitely help our dear nation to overcome most
of its present challenges. Peace and love for others, especially, were a
constant refrain in the Messiah's teachings and
admonitions to mankind. Therefore, as we celebrate his birth, I urge all
Nigerians to offer special prayers for a greater
manifestation of divine peace in our country and
the vanquishing of all demons of hatred,
divisiveness and disunity in our midst. As we celebrate Christmas, let us also remember
and offer special prayers for all of our
countrymen, women and children who have
suffered and continue to suffer untold hardship,
deprivation and death at the hands of terrorists
and insurgents. Let us also continue to pray for our gallant
soldiers and security agents who remain at the
forefront of the national effort to overcome
terrorism and violent extremism, even as the rest
of the nation celebrates Christmas and the
coming New Year. In this season of goodwill, I urge all patriotic
Nigerians to rededicate themselves to doing all
within their powers to support the brave men
and women of our armed forces in the ongoing
war against terrorism, and also support the
Federal Government's efforts to provide more succour to the hapless victims of terrorist
atrocities. The Victims' Support Fund which we have
established to raise additional funds to assist our
compatriots who have been adversely affected
by continuing insecurity in parts of our country
remains active. I call on all individuals and corporate
organisations who have not yet done so, to
donate more generously to the Fund which is
being efficaciously deployed to ease the
sufferings of victims of terrorist violence in the
country. Dear Compatriots, we are also celebrating this
Christmas against the background of
preparations for next year's general elections. I seize this opportunity to reassure the nation that
my administration will give the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) all
necessary support to ensure that it delivers very
free, fair, credible and acceptable elections in
2015. National security agencies will also be given all
necessary support to enhance their ability to
ensure that the elections which should
strengthen democracy in our country are
peaceful and violence free. I urge our political class to be law- abiding and
place the greater interests of our nation above all
personal or sectional interests in the countdown
to the elections. Let us all be more statesman-like, conduct issues-
based campaigns, and eschew the promotion of
falsehood, division and hatred of others as we
seek the votes of our countrymen in what should
be a peaceful competition among contending
points of view for the progress and development of our dear nation. I remain convinced that God Almighty is still with
us as a nation even in the midst of our current
challenges which we shall surely overcome with
greater unity of purpose, dedication, commitment
and perseverance. Let this year's celebration of the birth of Christ
the Messiah rekindle, strengthen and reaffirm our
faith in our national ability to overcome all
