Nigerian Military Sentenced 54 Soldiers To Death By Starving

54 soldiers sentenced to death for mutiny by a
military court in Abuja last Wednesday Dec.17th, are
reportedly being starved of food and basic care, a
military source told Premium Times The soldiers, who were transferred from Abuja to
Lagos on Sunday December 21st, are said to be
serially shackled by their legs and crammed in two
cells without beds or food or any form of care.. "The first cell has 30 soldiers. The second is
underground and has 24 soldiers. There are no
beds, no mattresses. The soldiers have not been
fed since Sunday." the source said. The soldiers have been in this condition since they
arrived Lagos Sunday Dec. 21st till Wednesday
December 24th but no one knows if their conditions
have since improved.

DHQ Rejects APC's Incitement Of Soldiers Who Refused To Fight Boko Haram

Organisation, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, backing soldiers who refused to fight Boko Haram, which the military considered as mutiny, the DHQ on Friday warned politicians, especially those campaigning for the 2015 general elections against meddling in purely administrative, operational and tactical decisions of the services "that could undermine the country's security system." This is coming as Amaechi's party, the All Progressives Congress pushed back on an earlier statement by the Buhari Campaign Organisation, saying the Rivers State governor did not encourage mutiny but merely said the military personnel could always assert their right to good welfare packages even as they engage in the defence of the nation's territorial boundaries. The Director of Defence Information (DDI) Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade, gave this stern caution to politicians in a press statement, urging them to be careful in their utterances in relation to the recent General Court-Martial where several soldiers were condemned to death. Olukolade said that in view of the series of insinuations, allegations and false claims being made by certain activists and politicians on the legal and disciplinary process in the Nigerian military, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) finds it necessary to call on politicians to avoid using the forum or medium of their political campaigns to incite or endorse acts of indiscipline in the nation's military establishments. According to him, this call has become necessary as the trend got to another level on Tuesday when a prominent politician declared that "The soldiers have the right to protest against Federal Government's failure to fully equip them". Amaechi, while speaking recently on the outcome of the military court-martial, said that the soldiers were entitled to protest. "It was expected that the fellow quoted or his party would have made immediate moves to correct this fallacy or erroneous impression being propagated especially in view of the level of knowledge of his principal and candidate in forthcoming elections", the DDI said. Unfortunately, Olukolade noted, no such gesture seem to be forthcoming.
He emphasized: "There is therefore the need to caution against the propagation of this dangerous idea before it causes more problems. "For the avoidance of any doubt, the military institution rejects this declaration and its intention in all ramifications. The military law as recognized by the Constitution of the Federation is an appropriate legal document for the management of affairs of the military. "The processes it outlines for handling military offences remain legal and will continue to be applied in the interest of the nation's security and democracy." The Defence Spokesman stressed that individuals and interest groups seeking to play to the gallery by being meddlesome, sensational or mischievous in interpreting developments in the military are advised to moderate their activities with some decorum. It is clear, Olukolade stated, that the false accusations that depended on unsubstantiated allegations being peddled on the military operations in Nigeria are intended to tarnish the reputation of Nigerian military and its leadership. He further warned: "The campaign apparently aimed at undermining constituted authority in the military must not be encouraged. It is obvious that most of the
comments and sensational stories in the media have been oblivious of the fact that the processes are still ongoing and yet to be concluded." The DDI clarified that "the war on terror is not all about equipment but mindset of both the military and the public, adding that "inciting remarks can only compound the situation for all involved". He assured that the military was resolved to prosecute the counter terrorism campaign with all sense of commitment by the rank and file. Olukolade remarked that the tendency to suggest or encourage dissention in the system would not yield any advantage to any well-meaning Nigerian. "Politicians are therefore requested to guide their utterances as the military remains a veritable institution of the state. Those who seek to undermine or destroy it should be prevailed upon to stop the mission considering the fact that the institution remains indispensable to government and its process under any dispensation. "The Nigerian military reiterates its commitment to defending the nation's democracy. Individuals and personalities are enjoined to refrain from pronouncement and attitude that seek to undermine the established justice/disciplinary procedures and processes of the military system," he said. According to Olukolade, this counsel is very vital to the excellent civil-military relations which is crucial to the nation's development.
He insisted that "incitement to protests or mutiny in the military is an ill wind that will ultimately blow no good to anyone." Olukolade continued: "The military authorities should not be blackmailed with a view to forestalling the exercise of due command and control over the system as established by law in the interest of the nation. "The Nigerian military has resolved not to yield to whims and caprices of those seeking to undermine its system purely for populist or political ends." APC Pushes Back on protests…
The APC has said it is fully in support of the recent call by Amaechi for the military to always assert their right to good welfare packages even as they engage in the defence of the nation's territory. Speaking in an interview with THISDAY on telephone, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, however appeared to have modified what Amaechi said, stating that though the party does not support disobedience to military rules, the APC saw nothing wrong in Amaechi's position that soldiers should fight for their rights. "Amaechi did not say Soldiers should protest. What he said was that they should improve the welfare of the soldiers and soldiers have a right to welfare and proper treatment while on national assignment. "We are fully in support of the view that soldiers' welfare must be improved but that does not mean that they will not respect the regulations governing the military institution. "You see, when you enlist in the military, you are governed by the Act establishing the military and military laws. So, that is a completely different thing. But for us as Nigerians, we believe that the federal government must keep its own side of the bargain so that they don't send soldiers to the war front without ammunition and equipment. "This is the position of my party that as much as soldiers must abide by the dictates of the military Act,
the nation also owes them the duty to properly equip them and take care of their welfare," he said. Meanwhile, APC has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to show leadership by example "instead of engaging in mere rhetoric." In a statement issued by Mohammed, the party said Jonathan's exhortations at a Christmas service in Abuja on Thursday would have carried weight if the President had acted in such a way that his compatriots would not doubt his sincerity. It wondered how the President could admonish others to avoid sowing the seeds of discord and hatred through their utterances "when that is exactly the stock in trade of his political associates, supporters and spokespersons."

Boko Haram Abducts 592 In 2014

At least 592 were kidnapped by the Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram in 2014. They were mostly girls, boys and women. Among them were the 276 schoolgirls abducted from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State by the sect on April 14. The abduction, which was the first of nine reported kidnappings by Boko Haram this year, drew international outrage. Majority of the kidnappings were recorded in Borno State, with the wife of Cameroonian Vice Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, abducted and at least three other people killed in an attack on Ali's home in Kolofata northern Cameroon. Boko Haram, on May 5, abducted 11 more girls in Warabe and Wala communities in the Chibok Local Government Area of Borno, killing about 300 people in Gamboru Ngala, a border town with Cameroon. Similarly in June, suspected Boko Haram insurgents abducted about 20 women and three men near Chibok. Later that month, the insurgents reportedly kidnapped more than 60 women and young girls, as well as 31 boys. Another attack on August 10 saw the insurgents forcefully conscripting 100 boys and young men in Doron Baga, a village in Borno State. On October 23, a fresh set of 40 girls were reportedly abducted by the sect in Borno. In another attack few days later, insurgents killed 17 and abducted 30 boys and girls in Maffa Local Government Area, Borno. The latest of the abductions came early this month, when suspected Boko Haram members abducted over 20 girls in Lassa. The Human Rights Watch had identified widespread poverty, corruption, security force abuses and longstanding impunity for a range of crimes as creating the enabling environment for militant armed groups such as Boko Haram to thrive. Despite President Goodluck Jonathan's declaration of a state of emergency in the north-eastern states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe — the worst-hit in the country — in May 2013, the pace of attacks by the sect had intensified. In a report published October 4, 2014, entitled 'Those Terrible Weeks in Their Camp: Boko Haram Violence against Women and Girls in North-East Nigeria,' the HRW said over 500 women and children had been abducted since 2009.

100 Boko Haram Fighters Killed, 200 Arrested By Cameroon Army

Cameroon military forces have defeated Boko Haram
fighters, in another encounter, north of the country,
the Chinese news agency, Xinhua has reported. More than 100 suspected Nigerian Boko Haram
militants were killed and over 200 arrested during an
operation conducted by Cameroonian army on Friday
night in Far-North town of Doble, an army source told
Xinhua over phone Saturday. Cameroon soldiers patrol in Amchide: It was the second major routing of the Boko Haram
fighters by Cameroon forces in less than two weeks. On 17 December, in clashes in the border trading
town of Amchide, Cameroon forces also killed about
180 fighters of Boko Haram. Xinhua which also reported it said about 3,000 Boko
Haram fighters were involved in the attack against
Cameroon, but they were subdued after losing 180
men, with three Cameroon soldiers also killed. The latest face-off near the Nigerian border starred
Cameroon Air Force and Rapid Intervention Battalion,
an elite army unit stationing in the north. During the operation, three Cameroonian air force
pilots were seriously injured, a military source told
Xinhua. In the same night, 23 Cameroonian civilians were
killed and a village was burned by suspected Boko
Haram militants in Mozogo, a place in Far-North
Region. Cameroun soldiers patrol in Amchide The suspected Boko Haram militants are active in the
north of Cameroon, they often attack the villages in
the area, pillaging properties of the villagers and
sometimes taking foreign and local people as
hostages. The Cameroonian government has strengthened the
military might this year by sending more troops in the
north to fight against the militants. The fight in Doble, was the third this month between
Cameroon and the rag tag army of Boko Haram. On December 12 no fewer than 180 Boko Haram
fighters were mowed down by Cameroon forces
attack comes less than a week after a previous
attack during which the Cameroonian army
announced having killed at least 180 Boko Haram
fighters on Dec. 12 in the same localities. Security sources said it's within the same territory
that over 200 Boko Haram fighters were killed
together with nine Cameroonian soldiers, during
deadly clashes between the two camps on Oct. 15
and 16 in 2014.

INEC Releases Guidelines For The Screening Of Presidential, Governorship And Assembly Candidates

In preparation for the National Assembly and States' Assembly elections expected to hold February 14 2015, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will commence the verification of the credentials submitted by the political parties on behalf of their perspective candidates. In the same manner, the verification exercise for presidential candidates of the ten political parties with presidential candidates for the February 14 2015
election is expected to hold between January 16 and 18 next year. INEC, it was gathered, would be using the amended 1999 constitution and the Electoral Act (2010 as amended) as their guide for the screening and verification of the documentations presented by the various candidates of the political parties. The screening and verification exercise is not limited to the National Assembly as the exercise would be extended to the State Assembly candidates in the 36 states. As part of this, INEC would set up a committee for the verification of legislative houses candidates (national/state assembly verification/clearance committee) and the members of these committees would be be visiting the states to verify the personal particulars of the candidates between January 4 and 14, 2015. The presidential and governorship verification as well
as clearance committee will conduct the verification in the commission's headquarters, Abuja, from January 16 and 18, 2015. As a penalty for candidates with false credentials, INEC is threatening a fine of N500, 000 on parties that present candidates with false information.
The guidelines for the screening and verification exercise are contained in INEC website Sunday.

Stop Killing Boko Haram Members – Buhari Tells FG

Former Head of Military Ruler and Chieftain of the
Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Major
General Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Federal
Government to stop the clampdown of Boko Haram
insurgents, saying Niger Delta Militants were never
killed or properties belonging to them destroyed. Buhari who spoke on Sunday on a Liberty Radio
programme, Guest of the Week monitored said
accused the government of killing and destroying
houses belonging to Boko Haram members while
the Niger Delta militants get special treatment. The former dictator said that unlike the special
treatment given to the Niger Delta militants by the
federal government, the Boko Haram members
were being killed and their houses demolished by
government. While accusing President Jonathan of failing from
the beginning to address the security situation in
the country, Buhari said he has never been in
support of the state of emergency in Borno, Yobe
and Adamawa state. According to Buhari "what is responsible for the
security situation in the country is caused by the
activities of Niger Delta militants. Every Nigerian
that is familiar with what is happening knows this.
The Niger Delta militants started it all. "What happened is that the governors of the Niger
Delta region at that time wanted to win their
elections. So they recruited the youths and gave
them guns and bullets and used them against their
opponents to win elections by force. "After the elections were over, they asked the
boys to return the guns; the boys refused to return
the guns. Because of that, the allowance that was
being given to the youths by the governors during
that time was stopped. "The youths resorted to kidnapping oil workers
and were collecting dollars as ransom. Now a boy
of 18 to 20 years was getting about 500 dollars in a
week, why will he go to school and spend 20 years
to study and then come back and get employed by
government to be paid N100,000 a month, that is if he is lucky to get employment. "So kidnapping becomes very rampant in the
South -South and the South -East. They kidnapped
people and were collecting money. "How did Boko Haram start? We know that their
leader, Mohammed Yusuf started his militant and
the police couldn't control them and the army
was invited. He was arrested by soldiers and
handed over to the police. "The appropriate thing to do, according to the law,
was for the police to carry out investigations and
charge him to court for prosecution, but they killed
him, his in-law was killed, they went and
demolished their houses. "Because of that, his supporters resorted to what
they are doing today. You see in the case of the Niger Delta militants, the
late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua sent an
aeroplane to bring them, he sat down with them
and discussed with them, they were cajoled, and
they were given money and granted amnesty. "They were trained in some skills and were given
employment, but the ones in the north were being
killed and their houses were being demolished. They are different issues, what brought this? It is
injustice". While fielding questions in English in the same
programme, Buhari said that the promoters of the
All Progressive Congress (APC) were aware of the
challenges ahead of them in an effort to get the
party registered, saying "the road to merger is
quite rough. "The ruling party, with its enormous resources
and its capacity for coercion has seen it as a threat
and they have said it. Personally, I came to realise
since 2007 that Nigerians believe that the only way
to stabilise the system of multi-party democracy is
for the opposition parties that have representatives right from Councillors to the National Assembly
come together to deliver their constituencies
democratically. This is the only way you can counter PDP's
enormous physical and material influence in the
country" He expressed optimism that the All Progressive
Congress will be registered saying "by nature, I
am an optimist. If I were not an optimist, I will not
attempt to contest the presidency three times and
end up in the Supreme Court three times. I believe
we are going to be registered. "There is a law guiding party registration which
states that you must have your headquarters in the
nation's capital that can be identified by INEC and
you must have a convention. All the three parties
involved have held their conventions and have
agreed to forsake our existing parties and go for APC. "At the national level, we must have those who
will run the party. As soon as we meet these
criteria and INEC acknowledge that, 30 days after
the acknowledgement, we are APC whether INEC
write us and give us the registration or not".

Bauchi Bomb Blast Death Toll Rises To 29

The Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on Sunday stated that the bomb explosion at the Central Market in the state capital, Bauchi, has risen to 19. This is even as the agency stated that property worth N240 million were destroyed in the explosion, while a
total of 130 shops were razed by the inferno that followed the explosion. Giving the information to journalists, the chairman, Emergency Committee of the agency, Alhaji Inuwa Bello, stated that the figures were arrived at following an assessment carried out by the agency.

President Goodluck Jonathan left Abuja Sunday for the United Kingdom on a brief private visit. The President was accompanied on the trip by some
of his principal staff and personal aides. Details of the visit was not disclosed in a terse statement by the presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati. Jonathan is is expected back in Abuja today ahead of
official engagements at the Presidential Villa on
Tuesday including scheduled audiences with groups
from Delta and Lagos States.

Sanusi Lamido, His CBN Mistress Sexual Escapades Exposed

Twenty minutes to midnight on February 25, 2013,
and a day before the board of the Central Bank of
Nigeria was due to meet, Governor Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi developed a craving for romance—he badly
needed a kiss. The governor, married, with children, grabbed his
mobile phone and typed out a message. "Maybe
you should come kiss me before board meeting
tomorrow," Mr. Sanusi wrote and then squeezed
the send button. At about 9 a.m. the next day, Mrs. Maryam Yaro, a
married mother of two, an assistant director and
subordinate to the governor at the CBN, arrived
Sanusi's unnamed Abuja hotel, seeking to keep
the date and help address her boss' craving for a
kiss. (Insiders say board members, including those who live in Abuja, are usually lodged in hotels
ahead of board meetings). But by the time Mrs. Yaro left the hotel to return to
her official desk at the CBN, the duo had also struck
out an arrangement to spend the rest of the week
together in Lagos. So, in the evening of Wednesday February 27, Mrs.
Yaro flew to Lagos ahead of Mr. Sanusi and checked
into a hotel in the city, skipping work, at
taxpayers' expense, on Thursday February 28
and Friday, March 1. To keep faith with Mrs. Yaro's date, the CBN
governor arrived Lagos, travelling on a chartered
flight, on the night of February 28, and checked into
the Federal Palace Hotel, passage and boarding all
at taxpayers' expense. Both Mr. Sanusi and Mrs. Yaro rendezvoused in the
hotel till Sunday when both of them returned to
Abuja, PREMIUM TIMES learnt. "…I had such a wonderful weekend," Mrs. Yaro
confessed to the governor while aboard her Abuja-
bound flight. "You have revived in me what I
thought I lost long ago. I thought I lost the passion
to love again," she claimed. "Alhamdulillahi. Love you," Mr. Sanusi responded
in a measured tone. Insiders say repeated violation of the statutory
code of conduct for public office holders such as
hiring his girlfriends and mistresses without
complying with public service rules, dating married
and unmarried women within the bank, and flirting
with them during official work hours have become defining characters of Mr. Sanusi's governorship
of the central bank. An official of the bank spoke of how Mr. Sanusi had
enthroned nepotism at the bank, arbitrarily hiring
girlfriends and relatives and engaging in
extramarital relationships with staff. "This man (the CBN governor) is the most morally
bankrupt governor the CBN has ever had," the
official, who did not want to be named for fear of
retribution, told PREMIUM TIMES. "Forget all the
pretences, he is a shameless man of loose
character." Investigations by this newspaper revealed that Mr.
Lamido hired his latest mistress, Mrs. Yaro, without
complying with the CBN recruitment policy that
stressed, "all appointments shall be made on the
basis of merit, through a fair and open selection
process." "The principles underlying the recruitment
process are those of fairness, credibility, equal
employment opportunities, merit and optimization
of career prospects for currently employed staff,"
the bank said on its website. But Mrs. Yaro, insiders say, was hired in July 2012
without adherence to these principles. Those who
should know say Mrs. Yaro, who was a staff at the
National Programme on Food Security, an agency
under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, was
brought into the bank as assistant director without "advert for the vacancy and after a kangaroo
interview." When contacted, Mr. Sanusi said due process was
followed in hiring Mrs. Yaro. He said having worked for years in the ministry of
agric, Mrs. Yaro came highly recommended and
qualified for the job for which she was hired. The CBN governor continued, "I have known Dr.
Yaro since 1981. She was my student in Yola and
she later came to ABU Zaria. We have been very
good friends but this is not why NIRSAL took her.

not CBN HR. "As for the personal allegations, this is all strange
to me but I have a personal policy of not responding
to such allegations since in Nigeria anything can be
published on any public officer without proof. I
have limited myself to what concerns official
allegations and leave you to your God and your conscience on whatever else you want to
publish. Thank you for telling me though." Mrs. Yaro however declined comments when
contacted by PREMIUM TIMES. "Be careful what you are saying," she told one of
our reporters on the telephone. "I have nothing to
comment to you on anything." When asked if she would be willing to respond to
specific questions about her trips to Lagos to keep
dates with Mr. Sanusi, she simply said, "Whatever
it is, I don't know. Will you just let me be?" But our investigations revealed that the
governor's claim was far from accurate. Through
several interviews and review of records, PREMIUM
TIMES was able to determine that Mrs. Yaro and Mr.
Sanusi had dated each other for at least six months
before she was hired. Insiders say Mr. Sanusi repeatedly pestered the
human resource department of the bank ordering it
to bring Mrs. Yaro's application to him for
approval. And once the file reached his table, the
governor wasted no time in treating it. On June 25, 2012, Mr. Sanusi, who was travelling in
South Africa at the time, telephoned Mrs. Yaro to
break the news to her that he had approved her
recruitment in what critics consider a clear conflict
of interest and a violation of a provision of
Nigeria's Code of Conduct which stipulates that "a public officer shall not put himself in a position
where his interest conflicts with his duties and
responsibilities." Mrs. Yaro, (whose businessman husband, Ahmed, is
largely based in Kaduna but visits Abuja regularly)
assumed duties at the CBN in the first week of
September 2012 and was deployed to the
Development Finance Department. The department then put her in charge of the
bank's Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing
System For Agricultural Lending, (NIRSAL), a unit
that attempts to fix the agricultural value chain, so
that banks can lend with confidence to the sector
and, encourages banks to lend to the agricultural value chain by offering them strong incentives and
technical assistance. Sources said Mrs. Yaro married Ahmed (or Shuaib,
according to another source) six years ago after
her first husband, Waisu Yaro Bodinga (then an
executive director at the Nigeria Ports Authority)
died in the ill-fated ADC plane crash of 2006. The romance between Mrs. Yaro and Mr. Sanusi
became even hotter after she began work at the
bank, with the two lovers regularly exchanging
telephone calls and text messages during work
hours to profess love for each other. At times, Mrs. Yaro would remain in her office far
beyond close of work to enable her to keep
appointments with the CBN governor, records
show. Sometimes, Mrs. Yaro would raise concerns about
Mr. Sanusi's other girlfriends and mistresses (such
as Sutura and Rose) and how they were blocking
her from getting the governor's full attention, but
the relationship continued nonetheless. Mrs. Yaro also began to have access to confidential
information known only to top management and
board of the bank, insiders say. At a point, one source said, she began to strategise
to corner contracts for one Goke Akinboro, the Chief
Executive Officer of Lagos-based Cellullant Limited,
an information technology company. Mr. Akinboro
is also described as "very close" to Mrs. Yaro. On March 15, 2013, the CBN lovers headed to Lagos
again for another weekend of fun. The initial plan
was for the duo to fly to the nation's commercial
capital on Saturday, March 16, returning to Abuja on
Sunday. But the trip had to be brought forward by a
day after the lovers realized that the Area Council election in Abuja was holding that Saturday and
that movement might be restricted. Mrs. Yaro arrived Lagos on the night of March 15,
and immediately checked into the Radisson Blu
Anchorage Hotel on Victoria Island. Mr. Sanusi flew
from Kano to Lagos via chartered jet on the bills of
the Nigerian taxpayers. He arrived at about 11 p.m.,
stopped by his Ikoyi home, before dashing to the hotel where Mrs. Yaro was waiting in a seductive
dress in Room 23. The lovers spent that night and
the next day together in the hotel. As he flew into Abuja March 17 on a chartered jet,
Mr. Sanusi sent a message to Mrs. Yaro saying,
"Love. Just landed in Abuja. Thank you for a
wonderful weekend." Mrs. Yaro replied,
"Alhamdulillah. I had a wonderful weekend too. I
am able to get the 3:15 flight on Arik Air. Love you." But in-between those rendezvous in Lagos, Mr.
Sanusi and Mrs Yaro also found time to get together
elsewhere. They were to meet on March 11, 2013,
in Makurdi but somehow Mrs. Yaro could not make
it to the Benue State capital. But earlier on February

Bank Governor of the Year. In 2011, the TIME
magazine listed Mr. Sanusi in its annual publication
of 100 most influential people. At the African Banker Awards gala dinner held
Wednesday in Morocco, Mr. Sanusi also emerged
the "2013 Africa Central Bank Governor of the
Year." "There is no doubt that he is a fairly effective
banker," an official of one of Nigeria's leading
banks, who requested anonymity for fear his bank
might be targeted, told PREMIUM TIMES. "But he is a
man of zero morality despite his public posturing. It
is really sad."

Dame Patience Jonathan Replies Gen. Buhari On Scrapping The Office Of The First Lady

General Buhari stated yesterday in an interview with Weekly Trust that if elected as president in next year's presidential election, he would abolish the office of the First Lady. The office, though not constitutionally recognized, has been maintained by past and present administrations and is even seen as being key in policy decisions. He said that ministries, which are constitutional, should be allowed to play their roles instead. "There is the Ministry of Women Affairs, and so on. I was raised by my mother, as I lost my father when I was under 6 yars, so I know what a woman can do if given the chance". In a subtle way of replying Buhari's comments, First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, emphasized the importance of the office of the First Lady in the Nigerian politics, saying that the office has been an avenue for mobilizing women for mass participation in politics. She said this in Abia state during a reception organized for her by the Ohuhu community, her maternal home in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia state, yesterday. She said the bid by politicians from the opposition camp to scrap the office of the First Lady would amount to sending the Nigerian women back to the kitchen if such came to fruition, adding, "It is not our portion to go back to the kitchen. We have women that are capable. We can contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria". She also told the women not to vote for any politician who doesn't respect women. The First Lady had veered off from the address she was reading at the occasion when she directed the attention of guests to Buhari's idea which she said was not practicable in the ongoing political dispensation because of the critical role women have been playing in politics.

propaganda media for terrorism & Boko Haram in
Nigeria. Find the military statement below... The attention of the Nigerian Army has been
drawn to a publication on the website of Sahara
Reporters with the caption "Nigerian Army
Presents Unverified "Lt Col" To Refute Petition
Against Military Hierarchy". It is noteworthy
but sad and unfortunate that Sahara Reporters has committed itself to support for terrorism
and fighting Nigeria, its people, its military and
particularly the Nigerian Army." Before Sahara Reporters published their purported
document described as petition from Lt Col Wende, a
serving Commanding Officer, the Nigerian Army
conducted a thorough investigation on the document
involving other security and intelligence agencies.
The process confirmed that the serving officer was not the author of the petition. Yesterday, the officer
dissociated himself from the so-called petition in a
press conference he personally attended. While
reputable media organizations were on hand to
engage the officer, Sahara Reporters being a faceless
medium, preferred to remain faceless and was not represented. Sahara Reporters sadly, but predictably,
and in fulfilment of its support for terrorism published
in its website a fabrication in which it referred to the
officer as "unverified". How absurd! Sahara Reporters has strived hard to present itself as
a propaganda medium for terrorism and Boko Haram
in particular. It is with this in mind, that the Nigerian
Army conducted a press conference in Maiduguri in
which the officer who appeared for the press
conference is Lt Col Wende, a serving officer of the Nigerian Army. Since the officer has clearly
dissociated himself from the document, it makes
sense that the so-called petition is the handiwork of
Sahara Reporters. With time, terrorism in Nigeria and
Sahara Reporters will be defeated by the collective
will of the good people of Nigeria.

23-year-old Uche Agunta, is a prostitute, who has
been arrested for cutting off male organs for rituals.
Agunta was apprehended by the Imo State Police
Command, when she tried using a razor blade to cut
off their private organs of a 38-year-old man's
manhood. While speaking to The Sun, she explained that she
had been in the practice of hacking of men's
genitals for quite some time, adding that she
receives N150,000 for every organ she sells.
"I am a prostitute and I smoke. I have a gang and
we specialise in sleeping with men and cutting their manhood during sex. We use the manhood for
money rituals. I have killed seven men in the hotel in
Owerri. They had sex with me after they have paid
me N3, 000 or N5, 000. I would be on top of the man
and in the process I would bring out blade and cut off
his manhood." "I do hand over the manhood to our gang leader.
They always promise to pay us N150, 000 for each
manhood we could supply, and which they used for
money ritual."
The suspect would also reveal that she has given
birth to three children, two of whom she has sold for N200, 000.
"I dropped out at JSS 3. I stopped going to school
when I lost my father, but my mother is still alive. I
joined a gang where some ladies initiated me into a
cult. Our main concern is going after male organ for
ritual. I have given birth to three children. I sold the first and second children for N200, 000 each. The
third child is a boy and he is staying with my
mother."
"On November 2014, the man met me at Oyima
Street, Owerri. He gave me N2,000 to have sex with
me. It was around 3.00pm. The victim took me to the hotel in Owerri and he was having sex with me."
"I was on top of him and when he was enjoying it, I
brought out my blade and I started cutting his
manhood. But it hadn't cut off when he started to
shout for help. Then they came to arrest me and he
was rushed to the hospital. I was arrested and I have confessed to the police."
Meanwhile, the Imo State Commissioner of Police
Abdulmajid Ali confirmed the story, saying that
Agunta will soon be charged to court.
